AW Acres CG My Lover kicked off our 2025 kidding season last night! She easily delivered 4 very large kids, 3 does and 1 buck sired by Little Tots Estate Maui! 🩷🩷🩷💙

Kidding season is approaching quickly! With just over a month before our first doe is due, I figured it was time to post our breedings. We have some exciting pairings to look forward to next spring, including two that were made possible thanks to my good friends at JMW Acres.

Yesterday I tagged along with our friends at JMW Acres and attended the Pioneer Classic Dairy Goat Show in Albion, NE. I had a blast getting to meet some really great people and my does definitely made me proud!

We didn’t come home with any ribbons in the Senior doe show but the girls still held their own in some very competitive classes!

The highlight of our day was the Junior show! I only brought two Junior does, AW Acres SD Storm Warning and AW Acres SD Private Dancer, both does won their classes in all three rings.

AW Acres SD Private Dancer has been bridesmaid at every show we have attended this season but I’m happy to announce that the giant January kid has become a bride! She started off the show winning Reserve grand champion under judge Joe Kimmel, then under Judge Kay Kimmel she won Grand Champion and BEST JUNIOR DOE IN SHOW! I knew this little doe was going to be something the minute she was born. Her dam Two Dogs Farm IMP Corazon is my heart goat and I’m so grateful for the impact that Corazon has made on both me and my herd over the past 4 years.

🥛May Milk Test🥛

We just barely squeezed in this milk test before we had to pack up and leave for a show and of course most of the girls were in heat so their numbers are a bit down, but still very impressive! This is our first year doing DHI and so far I have really loved getting this data each month! I have learned a lot about feeding my girls to produce at their maximum potential!

This weekend we attended the WDGA Badger Stateline Show for the first time. The Nigerian competition was extremely intense and there were a lot of beautiful goats shown. Our girls definitely made the 5 1/2 hour trip worth it!

Two Dogs Farm KSR Twister was Grand Champion Senior doe under Judge Joe Larson, she was also reserve grand champion under Judges April Hitch and Cameron Jodlowski. Twister is our first senior doe to be awarded grand champion. Thank you to Two Dogs Farms for breeding and trusting us with this beautiful doe!

Two Dogs Farm IMP Corazon placed 1st x2, 2nd x1, and 3rd x1. Corazon is also my showmanship doe and with her help I was awarded Reserve Grand Champion Senior Showman in what was probably the most competitive showmanship ring I have ever been in.

AW Acres CG My Lover made the cut in 3 of the 4 rings she was shown in, she placed in the top half of those 3 rings.

AW Acres WMR Rainey Day was Grand Champion Junior Doe under Judge April Hitch. Rainey is the first doe with our herd name to be awarded grand champion.

AW Acres SD Private Dancer was Reserve Grand Champion Junior doe under Judge Joe Larson. She placed 1st and 2nd in the other two rings

AW Acres SD Storm Warning placed 2nd in 2 of the 3 rings she was shown in.

Congratulations to our friends at Two Dogs Farm and JMW Acres for their wins this weekend!! We are already itching to get back in the ring next weekend at the Iowa Spring Classic!

Small but mighty, just like our Nigerians! Local friends know that last show season we borrowed an old 1970s livestock trailer to haul to shows and although it got the job done, it was almost too big for our small herd. This year I knew I wanted to finally take the plunge and purchase our own trailer. I wanted something small that would be easy to pull, after shopping around for a bit I came across this little livestock trailer from Alum-Line Inc.! They were extremely responsive and easy to work with! I can’t wait to load up the girls for our first show of the season in a couple weeks!

I had a great time presenting to the local Agricultural Education program! This program has been a huge part of my high school experience. I always love getting the opportunity to teach other youth about dairy goats!

The past 48 hours has been very busy! On Thursday night AW Acres CG My Lover kidded with triplets (2b, 1d) sired by Sexy Dancer. The doeling is being retained as of now. I could not be more happy with Lovers FF udder!! Friday afternoon was quite the whirlwind. Green Ash BT Kahlua kidded with triplet bucks sired by Sexy Dancer. These boys did not come easily!! The first was breech and had to be pulled, the second was positioned correctly and slid right out, and then the third one decided to present sideways with his head tucked back. Thankfully I was able to get him out and all seem to be doing well. Kahlua is recovering and is already impressing me on the milk stand! All of these boys will be available, most will go as pets/unregistered but I may let a couple go as registered.
