Hi all! Facebook is again playing with algorithms and is making messages in Messenger unable to be answered or fully seen, it seems! I have an auto-response enabled because, with it being just me doing all the pet-sitting, I am outside working all the time - with my hands full - and not in the office, and cannot reply or go back and forth for hours answering questions in Messenger on this page.
The BEST and quickest way to reach me and inquire about scheduling, etc. is a phone call and voice message on my trusty business office phone (which is a landline and does not have text capability) at 515-232-4457. I like to speak with you directly to answer all questions you have, and I return calls as I am able between work shifts taking care of pets. Feel free to call any time for more information and availability. A quick note: this time of year, like Spring break and holidays, I do book up very quickly and cannot accommodate last minute requests. Thank you! - Amy

Coolio statue in a park I noticed on this morning's dog walks! It's too bad the walking path doesn't take you closer to it but the park's in reconstruction so maybe they will change that. (I'm the one with the real dog 😁😆)

THIS!!! As dogwalkers (and dog owners!) we hate it when unleashed dogs run up to us and the clients' dogs we are walking! Grrrrr. Dangerous and panic-inducing! Please 🙏 OBEY THE LAW.

We encourage exploring the parks in all seasons, and we love it when you bring your dog! However, all dogs must be on a leash unless at the Ames Dog Park.

Unless your dog is on your own property, it must be leashed. In the park system every dog must be leashed:

• Even if your dog does well under voice command.
• Even if your dog is a puppy.
• Even if your dog is being trained.

Unleashed dogs can hamper the enjoyment of others at the park. Pet owners risk a citation and a minimum fine of $50, with court costs of $95, for a total of $145.

**Good idea! You can use this form to print copies and fill out and laminate for your car, purse, wallet, etc. I believe you can even add to your clinic MyChart account, etc. in case of emergency hospitalization.

I think it's so cute when kitties ask for this! I'm so happy to be able to take care of all cats but especially aged cats in their own homes. I'm very experienced and reliable about giving oral medications and insulin shots too! - Amy

Even though I'm still in recovery from spine surgery and physical therapy is kicking my butt, I'm still getting a kitty fix from some clients! Litter box scooping is still off limits though 😁 Also it's tough to resist getting down on the floor with them but I'm trying to stay strong! 😅

Good morning everyone! Just wanted to provide you all with a quick update on my spinal surgery almost one month ago. I'm excited to tell you, everything has been a big success! Firstly, I am healing at a phenomenal and amazing rate! I am off all pain medication and am up to walking 2 miles on my treadmill nearly every day. Also, the surgery fixed the pinched nerve issues I was having and, once my stamina is back up, I will be in even better shape than I was before. My pinched nerve pain is all gone! I wish I had done this surgery sooner, but it is done now, and I am forever grateful to my surgeon and his team, Mary Greeley Medical Center, my helper Ashley, and my family and friends for everything they've done for me and helped me with. I am improving nearly every day now. I still have restrictions until January because of the spinal fusion, so I can't bend over or lift more than 10 lbs (or walk dogs weighing more than that) until January. Can't believe I've come so far so fast, but I think all the pet-sitting and dog walking over the years definitely kept me in shape to recover so quickly and so well. I look forward to speaking with you and seeing all your pets again (and new ones too!) in the new year!!

Good afternoon, all! This is an announcement to alert you that next Monday, September 11th, I will be having a significant lumbar fusion surgery which means I will be unavailable for pet sitting until the start of 2024. I will be convalescing for 3 months after surgery and will be able to resume pet sitting in January. These 2 cats and dog are my own beloved pets and they will be overseeing my recovery! 😁
I hope everyone has a healthy and happy holiday season, and I will be excited to see you again in the New Year!

Happy hot Thursday to one and all! We're thankful we can get the dog walks done early when it's cool out and enjoy a nice roll in the grass as well. Hopefully RAGBRAI riders can do the same! :D
