After almost a month hiatus, we were out at Perfect Pets with our new Bailing Out Benji signs! A huge thank you to everyone who came out today for our peaceful protest.

Stores like Perfect Pets in Centennial continue to misinform consumers saying the puppies don't come from puppy mills. We are there to educate and spread awareness. The public deserves the truth!

Stay tuned for more information about protest dates, upcoming events, and ways that we can help prevent consumers from unknowingly supporting the puppy mill industry. It takes a village!

This is so extremely cool. Our search engine has been used to perform a half of a million searches in just 4 months! This is the first time ever that the public has instant access to a 5 year inspection history on every licensed breeder and broker in the country.
Consumer education and access to information are two huge pieces in the fight against puppy mills and cruel breeding practices. If the public stops funding bad operations by purchasing their puppies, those places will have no market and will close! Supply and demand.

Our licensed dog breeder search engine has been used 500,000 times since we first released it in June!!

In just 4 months, our website has proven to be the most valuable tool for consumers looking for more information on breeders and for advocates who want to learn more about what is happening in their community. Just by typing in a name, kennel name, or license number, you are able to view the 5 year inspection history on a facility and notes on how they sell. We recently ran an update, which included additional state licensed breeders and the most recent inspection information on more than 5,000 licensed breeders/brokers across the country.

*PLEASE NOTE* For now, this map only includes licensed dog/cat breeders and brokers across the country. There are tens of thousands of facilities that are operating in states with no regulations, as well as facilities that are operating outside of licensure altogether. While we are monitoring them in our database and filing complaints as needed, we do not have them available to the public at this time.

JUST RELEASED! Bailing Out Benji performed an audit regarding all puppies and dogs coming into Colorado in 2024 and the results were fascinating. Unfortunately, on top of Colorado's puppy store issue, we are seeing that a lot of families are buying puppies online from facilities that have violations AND there is at least one rescue in our state that is buying hundreds of puppies from an Iowa broker in order to resell in our community.

This summer our nonprofit performed an audit of all of the incoming puppies and dogs coming into Colorado from other states. This audit was performed in order to help lawmakers determine whether or not the licensing agency PACFA is needed but could also provide valuable insight on potential legislation in the future. Our findings showed that there is an alarming lack of transparency happening for consumers who are looking to buy- and even adopt- puppies in the state of Colorado.

We found that pet stores are mainly sourcing from brokers instead of directly from breeders, we learned that many puppies bought online were coming from places with violations, and we even found evidence of one rescue getting more than 300 8-12 week old puppies from a broker. A whole lot of Colorado citizens are supporting the puppy mill industry, and they have no idea!

This is the first time that an audit like this has been performed on a state's imports and the findings were fascinating. When you take time to look at all of the data surrounding puppy sourcing, you see a much larger picture and those details can help you determine the best path forward to stop the cruel and inhumane puppy mill industry in your community!

Our Colorado team had an incredible weekend at the Thornton Harvest Festival! They talked with 397 people while making so many great first-time connections and helping spread our mission to a whole new audience.

Every conversation is a chance to plant a seed of awareness and inspire compassion for dogs still trapped in puppy mills. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to learn more and support this important work! 💙

Yesterday was filled with lots of honks, waves, and thumbs up from cars going by! Five people stopped to ask about our efforts and we educated them about the puppy broker system. It is amazing to see the light go on! So many people still don't know how this covert system works. 🚗👍💡 🐾💕️🌟

One older man's wife had already purchased a puppy in the store, but we educated him anyway. They were picking it up. He had no idea what a puppy mill was! They exited the store walking around the back with the puppy probably to avoid us. We gave them a sick puppy flier just in case. We have had several people talk about buying puppies with giardia, kennel cough, interstitial pneumonia, etc. Buyer beware! 🐾💔🚫💔😷

Two ladies asked for information and were very supportive of our efforts. They took information. A young man who asked for information later told us he worked in the store. When I told him the puppies were in**ed he didn't understand. He said how are they in**ed if they are mutts? I told him I hoped he could find a better job and not support cruelty. 🐕🐾🤞🤨 🙏 💖

Finally, we were packing up and a man asked for information. He and his group were going in to pet puppies. I said we try to discourage foot traffic because they support cruelty. I explained the Pet Store Consumer Protection law, which is a transparency law in the state. He said he would check the cage cards.
