⚠️ ATTENTION ALL! ⚠️I will be posting my new phone number for inquiries about boarding, grooming etc within the next couple of days. For those who have tried to reach me within the past few months please know my phone is outdated and overloaded. FOUND DOG* - Female Boxer, no collar . My coworker Jenny Kay found a dog that was running loose near Sacred Heart Church off of Pearl Ave in Lorain. She is currently safe at our work at Avon Animal Hospital until we close at 7pm. Jenny will be taking her to the Lorain County Dog Kennel in hopes that she finds her owner faster that way. Please share!

Hi all! We are soon putting a temporary halt to new bookings (if you already have spoke to us about dates and are on the books then you are set in stone) until further notice as we need to take a break on boarding to finish our remodeling as it is very difficult to do while having consistent boarders. Also Matt and I have also decided that we are going to take a vacation/break of our own. Him and I have ran this business for over two years now and not once have had a vacation of our own nor celebrated a holiday. No complaints of course but we have finally decided to reward ourselves and give ourselves a break! We of course will start bookings again once we figure out the dates of our breaks for remodeling and our own vacation/break. We will keep everyone posted. We will make another post very soon with the date that we will start taking requests for new bookings again!!! We will not be on break for long at all!!! Thank you for your understanding!!! - Tori

We had the best time throwing Cooper a little personal birthday party during his stay with us. Cooper’s 11th birthday was on March 30th! Hi all! Tori here. A few things I’d like to post :

🔵1. My phone number is no longer 440-370-6753. My phone number is now 440-281-1777! If you have contacted the first phone number I have NOT received it!

🔵2. Friendly reminder to everyone to make sure that vaccines are up to date before boarding. I will post a separate post with our vaccine policy.
If your dog has never had their bordetella vaccine and for some reason your veterinary clinic does not ask if you need it, please make sure to ask for it.
Bordetella is a noncore vaccine - noncore vaccines are those recommended for some dogs based on lifestyle, geographic location, and risk of exposure. Bordetella vaccine helps control and prevent the spread of germs that cause kennel cough. This vaccine is REQUIRED to board with us along with the other vaccines that will be posted.

🔵3. With vacation season around the corner my phone is getting constant messages. I am so grateful for that! I ask to PLEASE be patient with responses. I HAPPILY juggle running this business, working at an animal hospital, caring for my own pets (one being paralyzed that requires a lot of extra care), my wife duties and every once in a blue moon taking care of myself. 😃
I do NOT carry my phone on me most of the time as I am way too busy with caring for all the animals, cleaning, renovating, at work, etc.

I have several messages to catch up on and I do little bits of catching up on my down time. I promise I am not ignoring anyone! Please be kind and respectful! I am one human.

🔵 4. A few policies will be changing in the very near future. You will get an email of those and I will update on here when I am finished and sending out.

Two years since we started this business and we are still as grateful as ever for each one of you for supporting us. Starting out two years ago there were a many trials on how exactly we wanted to run everything but we sure do have a good routine now. It is hard work but when you have a passion for animals it seems to come very natural, making that work much easier! 💛

Just a reminder that although our Facebook posting is slow doesn’t mean we are not consistently busy. We have boarders daily which is why it takes me a bit to get back to folks as I am not on social media often. Stewart is really loving the yard! For a puppy weighing roughly 5lbs he sure is a quick little guy!!! He is so funny! What a great time we have with him.

Matt endlessly giving and getting tons of lovins! It’s so great having a husband who has a soft spot for every single dog who stays with us just as I do. We genuinely enjoy what we do each and every day! No matter the breed, behavior, age etc.. we bond with each dog differently by going at the dogs pace doing whatever makes them most comfortable. It’s the dogs world.. we are just happily living in it! 💛

Miss Lila is only 4 months old! We stayed consistent with her training of basic commands and her potty routine during her stay with us. She sure is a smart little beagle baby! Love her!!!

Koda is bound and determined to carry this giant tennis ball around in his mouth… however, I think we may have to downsize on the ball just a little! He is too funny! We just adore him. 💛

Keeping our doggy guests happy is a top priority of ours no matter what it takes! Each guest gets one on one time every single day, multiple times a day. We are constantly busy rotating time with our guests throughout the day plus caring for our own dogs, but we genuinely enjoy every second of it - a positive experience is a MUST here at Second Home! Happy dogs, happy life! ☀️💛🐾

Tonight is Zora’s first night with us and she is already having a great time! What a fun-loving gal she is! 💛🐾
