We have had a fantastic first week of lessons here at Rail To Rail. One of our awesome lessons was Barry and his horse Midnight! I have had the privilege of doing some riding on this horse personally, and it was awesome to see Barry and Midnight work together on not only tuning their existing skills but also trying some new things!

Recently, Seven and I had the privilege of being invited to the William’s Stadium for a demo for the football team. Seven was fantastic and loved being the center of attention. Huge thank you to Coach Chadwell and Alex for inviting us!

It is with an extremely heavy heart that I am posting this. Sadly, this is a part of working with horses. We lost sweet Miloh this last week to colic. I absolutely loved the time I had the privilege of working with this horse and I will never forget him or the lessons he taught me. Dee took better care and treasured this horse far beyond most owners. Watching them both grow over the time I have known them has truly been an honor to witness. ❤️
Rest easy Miloh boy.

With the new year upon us (happy new year!), here’s your reminder that it takes time. Growth and habit forming of any kind takes time! It takes hard days. Blood, sweat, and tears… (and bruising and hay splinters and broken tack and more tears and prayers and so on…).

By some miracle I have learned that my elbows are in fact human and not chicken wings. But above all this horse has always given me 100% which is one of my favorite things about Seven! So I just wanted to show some of his (and my) progress pictures since I bought him in 2020.

What an INCREDIBLE week of lessons! Unfortunately I didn’t get video of everyone’s lessons this week, but I’ll share the ones I did get! In order: •Jazmyn had a great lesson working on canter transitions and position with Seven and crushed it! •Tessa worked on loping with Midnight (which is something that is new to Midnight!) and did a great job being patient with her! •Addi had her first full lesson off the lead rope on Luna, and even trotted all by herself, wohoo! •Kristin had an amazing cross rail lesson working on leads and positioning and was absolutely wonderful with Seven! •Ava had a complex lesson with Seven working on timing and position with canter flying lead changes and did amazing! •Sadie trotted her first ground poles by herself with Luna and crushed it like a pro! •Rachel worked on some canter position with Luna, which is not something Luna gets to do often- they both had a blast and did incredible! We are very excited for the new week of lessons and learning!!! 😄
