Today was bittersweet. We sent Mr. Apollo off in his chariot fit for a king to Massachusetts, where he will be joining his new partner, Katie.

Kallie Hainline put so much of herself into this young horse, his transformation is remarkable. Each day he gets better and better, always comes out ready to learn and work, carrying over the prior lessons and picking up where they left off. She truly loves this horse, it is hard to let him go. It has been impressive to capture the journey with him, we will share more about the experience, which began in April of 2024.

At Lone Pine Hill we don’t just train horses, we unlock their potential, connect with them through consistent and confident communication. We also don’t just sell them, we find our horses their best match, doing everything we can to ensure they’re set up for a wonderful and successful life by sharing all we know and have learned about them with their future owners. The Alignment of horsemanship goals and equine aptitude. That is our mission. Apollo and Katie are another success story in the making!

We cannot wait to see all the fun adventures Katie and Apollo (aka Polly Wally Wambat) will go on. We sure hope to get up there for some beach riding with you both one day! Congratulations, Katie! We are so excited for you both!

As the Winter Solstice is upon us, it is only fitting that we announce that Apollo has found his forever home and a perfect match with Katie! Must be Fate, as he has her first intital branded on his hip already!

In reading about the Solstice and preparing to step into the season or increasing light, we learned that the Greeks made offerings to their sun god, Apollo, on this day.

So Apollo, today we honor you and are so grateful to have had the opportunity to help you find your way in the world. From s-laught*r bound to living the life of a prince, you deserve every good thing that comes your way, for the rest of your life. May you bring joy and light to Katie, and everyone who you meet. You are a truly good soul and will continue to blossom into a wonderful horse. We will miss you, but are so proud of you and cannot wait to learn of all you will accomplish!

Love and light 💕💫🦄🌞

P.S. most of our horses are placed before they are listed (Apollo is another example) Contact us with your needs, or if you have a horse to sell or to be trained!

Anybody we know want one of the cutest, most biggest oversized pony to stuff in a stocking, put under the tree, or drag one in from the forest for you?

Get in touch if you do! They only make one of these, and we’ve got him 🤠💕🦄💫🎄🎅🎉

Lia and Devyn put in the work 💪 this morning to resolve a few sticking points. We will work with Lia tomorrow and Devyn will be continuing the rest of the week.

Clear, consistent and confident communication is the goal in the horse and rider relationship. Horses are always asking questions about boundaries and expectations. When wires cross or they don’t give us the answers we seek undersaddle, we take it back to the basics on the ground. This can clear up any confusions and result in a far more productive and pleasant experience.

Lia and Devyn did great! It was fun to see such an accomplished pair learn brand new skills and apply them successfully. We are excited to see them continue to develop and shift from the traditional approach - perhaps even some trick training could be in their future! What a lovely pair and a top quality mare! We are grateful for the opportunity to work with them both.

Hunting with Oak Ridge Fox Hunt Club at the Oak Ridge Estate yesterday. What a beautiful day!

Roy was a 💫 tried and true, steady and smooth. What a truly lovely horse he is. We have a few conversations going on him, but if they do not produce we will be officially listing him this week. He’s ready to find his person. Will certainly be able to hunt all flights and we believe could make a great staff horses as well.🦄

Mac…still a child, was a good boy but thought it could get exciting and busted out some 🐬porpoise like maneuvers to demonstrate his desire to move out - after some laughter and one correction he got the message and hunted like a prince the rest of the time. Not bad for his 6th time out. These young horses are always asking us questions - just gotta be ready with the right answers!

The unmatched Bingo has blossomed into a remarkable Hunt Horse who stands out and shines brightly even in the most superior company (Middleburg, Piedmont, Snickerville, and more). Photos from Piedmont Opening Hunt. Many references available.

He is officially available for ⛵️ or possibly lease in 2025 after his current lease ends. We will be highly selective as he is an increadible being and we care about him deeply. We have owned Bingo for 3 years, he is a treasure, truly one in a million.

Excited to be featured today in our local paper! 🤠🤠🦄🦄💕💫

On an October afternoon, Meredith Newman and Kallie Hailine were in their scenic element enjoying a ride at Line Pine Hill LLC, the equestrian facility and horse stable they operate on about 250 acres just outside the town of Amherst. Each learned to ride horses as a little girl and that shared pass...

Congratulations to two of our boarders, Katherine and Devyn, who went head to head on the flat in yesterday’s National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) showdown between Sweet Briar Riding and Lynchburg Equestrian Team. Devyn, riding for the Hornets, posted an 82 to edge out Katherine’s 81 for the Vixens.

What a fantastic display of sportsmanship from these two! Rivalry stokes great competition, but a true team player can leave it all on the field/in the arena, and graciously meet their opponent with congratulations and smiles. A fantastic job by both, and wonderful for their families to meet and enjoy each other’s company! Meredith made it just in time to catch the second half of the flat and snag a picture!

Congrats to both teams, what a great competition! Way to go University of Lynchburg who secured the win 7-3!

If you have any questions about collegiate riding feel free to reach out. Meredith competed in IHSA and ANRC for Sweet Briar College while also playing lacrosse all 4 years and coached NCAA lax for 12 years. Kallie Hainline was a
riding instructor at Sweet Briar for 4 years and has a number of contacts at other colleges equestrian opportunities. Our current equestrian collegiate athletes can also speak to their experience, as well as those who ride, but not for the team(s).

If you’re interested in riding at one of the local colleges (Sweet Briar, Lynchburg, Liberty) but want to keep your horse separately, consider us! We’re in the town of Amherst Virginia and in close proximity. About half of our boarders are college students and some send us their horses for summer break to keep in condition whilst they are away. Though, don’t delay! As of now we are full, but may have an opening next fall for an incoming student and their horse.
