Buffalo Underdogs Rescue We are an all-breed, volunteer-driven nonprofit org. BUR saves dogs in WNY as well as from a rural kill shelter in Eastern TX.

We pull dogs from shelters & transport them to their awaiting foster homes, in the Buffalo area.

Hey Bills Mafia! I’m Stimpy, your new game-day buddy! 🏈🐾 Are you ready for the playoffs? Because I sure am! I’m Stimpy, a 4-year-old, 40-pound superfan with ears big enough to hear the crowd roar all the way from the stadium. Whether it’s cheering on the Bills or snoozing during halftime, I’m the perfect companion for game day and beyond.

I’m a strong walker (tail wagging all the way), and I love playtime, especially with other dogs. After a hard-fought game—or just a long day—there’s nothing I love more than curling up for a nap (probably dreaming about Josh Allen touchdowns) or rolling over for some belly rubs. I’m crate trained, potty trained, and always ready for the next adventure. I love playing with you or any potentially doggy sibling. I’ve never been around a cat but it is my fosters guess by my interest in squirrels the feline friends may not be for me.

Reintroducing Mia! 🎉
This young 55-lb Rottweiler-Mastiff mix from right here in Buffalo has won the hearts of our BUR family💙. We even have a volunteer chat with all her supporters! Mia was struggling at the shelter and her incredible foster Mom stepped up to make her an Underdog way back in May. Since then, she's had no adoption interest🥺; so we want to showcase this overlooked pup today and hopefully change that.

Mia is a smart, funny, happy, and cuddly girl. But she can have some "stranger danger" issues that she's been working on - she just needs to know that she is safe with her handler. Once she knows you though? Oh, you're besties 🤗 for life and she will love on you so hard! Mia's circle of trust has grown continuously during her time in the rescue.

Mia is not an aggressive dog. She can sometimes be a fearful 🥺gal who is learning to work through some very big feelings. Mia loves to learn! She's completed both a basic obedience and an adolescent training class (she'll be 2-1/2 in April) and is currently working on muzzle training.

Well that was the "bad". Here's the good 😊. And there's LOTS of it. Mia is potty trained and crate trained. She absolutely loves playing with other dogs 🐶. She's incredibly athletic and is a great jogging partner. Are you in a summer softball 🥎 league and want to work on your pitch? Happy Teamwork Tuesday to one of our amazing fosters, Amy! Amy is a double underdog mom (just look at those gorgeous pups)! 💙💙 She jumps in to foster owner surrenders, she volunteers at events, she processes foster applications and does home visits, she brings underdogs to vet appts, and many more things! Hi, I’m Mocha, I can’t wait to snuggle with you! I am a 4-month-old, 30 pound chocolate lab mix with gorgeous brown eyes looking for my forever home.

I am potty-trained, crate trained, and sleep through the night. Nothing gets me more excited than seeing people - you should see how fast I can wiggle my tail!. I love it when people pet, snuggle, and play ball with me. I also love other dogs – I play with my foster dog sisters and I’m good at “respecting boundaries” when they don’t want to play. If I’m bored, I’ll just grab a bone and entertain myself! I’m also food motivated, so I learned “sit” quickly and can’t wait to learn more tricks!

Operation: ‘Fatten Up Francis’ is officially underway! 🤠🐷

Just over one week in his foster home, and Francis is already thriving!✨ He’s gaining strength, feeling healthier, and experiencing the pure love and comfort he deserves. We’re having a blast getting to know this goofy guy, and his foster family is properly obsessed🥰

Here’s what we’ve learned so far:

Francis has an absolute obsession with stuffies, toys, and all things fun. He has yet to meet a snackie he didn’t like. He enjoys ear scratches and loves being surrounded by his people.

While Francis still has more weight and strength to gain before he’s ready to find his forever home, we’ve decided to launch the official “Fatten Up Francis” campaign🤠

This morning we are thrilled to share a very special adoption announcement. After patiently waiting over 8 months, our handsome fellow, Daffy, has finally found his perfect forever home! He’s now part of a loving family of five with plenty of land to explore and play on. His new family is truly amazing and already showering him with love and affection.

We don’t know why some of our pups take longer than others to find their happily ever after, but it’s always worth the wait to find their perfect forever families. We still have a handful of other long term fosters that would be so grateful to find their happily ever after too.
