🙏Please help us keep your dogs safe!🙏
🦠By Now I'm sure most of you have heard, there is a NEW strain of Canine Respiratory Disease (CIRDC) hitting the entire country. All dog parks, dog show facilities, boarding kennels, daycares, grooming salons, dog sporting events & veterinary clinics are seeing clients with dogs that are affected- No one facility is immune, as it is moving through our canine community like wildfire. It appears to be mainly affecting the upper respiratory tract & can lead to pneumonia if left untreated. As of right now, we have not seen any cases recently in this facility- but we need your help to keep it that way!
🤒If your pup is ill in ANYWAY please keep them home.‼
Our local vets are hard at work trying to figure out what this disease is and how best to treat it. What we do know is:
• It is spread “most likely” through nose-to-nose contact, just like any human disease.
• Dogs vaccinated against Bordetella (Kennel Cough) as well as Canine Influenza are STILL at risk & CAN contract the disease- but being vaccinated “may” decrease the chance- so be sure to keep your pup up to date on their vaccines.
• "Typical" antibiotics do not seem to be treating the symptoms & dogs can go from feeling/acting fine to crashing in a matter of hours.
• Some vets have cultured the disease and come back with varying results, but whatever it is, if left untreated most cases lead to Pneumonia- Vets are referring to this disease as CIRDC
With the vast impact COVID-19 had on our human our immune systems, the Canine community has been similarly impacted. Vets are seeing dogs with less than adequate immune systems that could possibly be attributed to the lack of "typical" social interactions our k9s had during quarantine periods.
✏We posted about this disease last year on our page, as that's when the first few cases started popping up on the East Coast. We cannot stress enough that we NEED YOUR HELP to keep others safe.
🙏Please, Please, do not bring your dog into the facility if they have any sign of illness including coughing, nasal discharge, lethargy, etc. If your dog is ill in ANY way, please call our front desk & we will accommodate boarding/daycare cancelations, postponing class enrollment etc. (603) 672-8448
🙏We also ask, that you please be patient with us as we are extra vigilant looking for any signs of illness in our facility. Any dog exhibiting symptoms will be quarantined and must be picked up immediately.
🧼Rest assured, we are diligent with our cleaning protocols, using THREE different types of Parvocide- as no one truly knows what this disease is or how to kill it. Plus, we now use a disinfectant Fogger in addition to our routine hosing, scrubbing & disinfection procedures.
🤩We thank you for your continued patronage & your help in keeping our k9 friends happy and healthy!!
