We wanted to send out a reminder that our Regenerative Medicine client education night is this Thursday, Feb 1st, at 6:30pm for those that RSVP’ed.
We are at our limit so I am sorry if you weren’t able to get in on this event.
The Dooryard is located behind the Flourgirl Bakery, and there is plenty of parking in the back.

Please join us in welcoming Kiera Egan DVM to Connecticut Equine Clinic.

Dr Egan grew up on Long Island,NY, where her love of horses began as a child, when she started riding at a local stable.
Dr Egan received her BS in Biomedical Sciences from Marist College, and went on to graduate from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine. During her undergraduate years, Dr Egan’s passion for equine medicine flourished as she gained invaluable experience at Rhinebeck Equine and James C Hunt & Associates at Belmont Racetrack during the summers.
Dr Egan’s professional interests include wound management, field surgery, neonatal care, and podiatry. Outside of work, she enjoys pottery, rowing, and is starting to get back into riding.

Please join us in welcoming Dr Lauren Veno as a full time associate to Connecticut Equine Clinic

Dr. Veno grew up in a suburb of Kansas City, MO where she found her passion for horses at a young age while riding and working at a local stable. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from the University of Missouri in 2018 where she went on to also complete her doctorate of veterinary medicine in 2022. Following graduation, Dr. Veno completed a one-year ambulatory sports medicine internship with Grand Prix Equine. Dr. Veno’s professional interests include sports medicine, diagnostic imaging, purchase exams, and emergency medicine. Outside of work, Dr. Veno enjoys riding and competing in hunter/jumpers, painting, line dancing, and exploring the northeast with her husband and dog, Maple.

First…..We officially have a new physical location for Connecticut Equine Clinic.
We should be up and running this week.

Sometimes life’s road gets bumpy. Today got real rough, but we will sort it out and establish a new physical address very soon.

A message from Dr. Reilly:

"After a long hard period of soul searching, I made the difficult decision to retire from veterinary practice. Know that I did so with mixed emotions.
While I am very excited to explore the next chapter in my life, I am also very sad to be saying goodbye.

My decision is made easier knowing that I will be leaving you in the very capable and compassionate hands of Dr. Scott Sears, Dr. Genny Williamson and, our newest veterinarian, Dr. Kaela Schraer.

I want to thank you for the kind and thoughtful comments and the well-wishes you have posted on the page. I have read and re-read them all. They are greatly appreciated by me and my family.

Our horses and ponies hold a special place in our hearts. It has been anhonor and a privilege to be part of your lives for all of these years. I wish your families, both two and four legged, all the best in health and happiness. My relationships with you, your horses, and my colleagues and co-workers are what has made this profession special to me. I am grateful for your loyalty throughout the years. The wonderful memories I have from the past three and a half decades will always be with me.

We at Connecticut Equine Clinic would like to congratulate Dr Michael Reilly on his well deserved retirement. For more than 34 years Dr Reilly has served the needs of our equine companions, regardless of the time of day, day of the week, temperature or type of precipitation falling from the sky.
We thank you for your dedication as a veterinarian, being a mentor to so many students and aspiring veterinarians, and for your friendship.

Drs Scott Sears, Genny Williamson, and Kaela Schraer will strive to maintain the reputation and quality of care that Connecticut Equine Clinic is known for.

There seems to be an issue with phone calls getting through to our office number from cell phones. If you are unable to call in from a mobile line, we suggest trying from a land line. The issue does not seem to be a problem with our lines, but something on the cellular side.

New Year, new faces! Some of you may have already met our new doctor, but please join us in kicking off 2021 with an official warm welcome to Dr. Kaela Schraer.

Dr. Schraer grew up in Glastonbury, CT. She graduated veterinary school at Tufts University in 2017 before moving to Maryland for her internship with Damascus Equine Associates. She stayed on with Damascus as an associate veterinarian for an additional two years before returning home to Connecticut. She joined Connecticut Equine Clinic in 2020. She loves camping, hiking and rock climbing with her husband, Steve, and their yellow lab, Rogi.

As of Wednesday morning, our office is without power. We can still be reached via our answering service (call the regular office number) and for anything urgent we will try to assist you as best we can.
Our doctors are on the road seeing their regularly scheduled appointments and emergencies.

We hope you are all continuing to stay safe as clean up progresses, and we will update you as soon as we are back up and running.

Good Morning, Everyone!
We hope everyone is is faring well in the midst of social distancing, barn closures, and the toilet paper crisis.

We are currently conducting business as usual with the exception of maintaining social distance and requesting that anyone who is feeling sick or with potential exposure let us know so we can take any necessary precautions.

Additionally, our office is remaining open for the pickup of medications & supplies. In an effort to limit traffic at our front desk, we ask that you please call ahead so that we can have your items ready & waiting. We can take payment by credit card over the phone, and have a pickup setup on the front porch.

We truly appreciate all your efforts to help us as we try to keep everyone safe, so that we can continue to serve you without interruption and provide the same level of care you depend on.

We are planning to continue to care for our equine patients in the same manner as always.

Please let us know if any person we may interact with is not feeling well and keep appropriate distances.

These are difficult times, but we will get through them.
