Thank you to the Petfinder Foundation for awarding us a 2024 Cat Enrichment Grant! Using these grant funds, we’ve been able to purchase cat trees that are easy to sanitize, window perches, puzzle games, and lots of toys! Enrichment is so important for healthy social development!

Sweet little Alice is still going strong! She has a great appetite, but like a lot of really young kittens, she doesn't do well eating alone. She seems to not really realize that she has food unless I'm giving it to her directly. She loves to eat out of my hand, but since I'm trying to limit direct contact with her I really try to get her to eat out of a dish.
The incubation period for panleukopenia is typically 3-5 days, and rarely longer than 1 week. This means that if she was going to come down with panleuk, it most likely would have happened this weekend. Luckily, she still seems completely healthy and tested negative this morning!! To be safe we will keep her under strict quarantine for two full weeks, but I'm allowing myself to become cautiously optimistic that Sweet Alice may have dodged a bullet 🤞🤞

2021 was a tough year for humans and cats. A reduction in low-cost neuters in 2020 led to one of the worst kitten seasons in memory. It was a hard year to start a rescue, but we survived - thanks to all of you!! Our foster, adopters, and supporters- without you we couldn't do any of this. Our sweet foster kitten Bagheera was recently diagnosed with FIP. This once fatal disease is now curable, but it isn't cheap.
He will need daily injections for 84 days or a very expensive drug, and frequent vet visits with lab work to monitor the progress of his treatment.
We expect that we will need at least $2,000 to cure Bagheera, and we are asking for your help.

Nellie sometimes gets sleepy when she eats and she'll start doing this little nursing thing. I know she's going to grow out of it soon so I keep trying to get a video but she usually wakes up when I get close enough and stops. I finally captured it!

This is a huge milestone for TPW! When Teresa and I decided to start our own rescue, we thought we'd aim to rescue maybe 50 kittens per year... 🙄 That was cute.
We've been going at full speed for a little over 6 months, and we've already found 100+ kittens their forever homes, we have an additional 100 (ish) currently in our rescue, and we've TNR'd a couple dozen community cats!! 😸🎉👯
None of this would be possible without our amazing support systems! Our fosters are incredible! And organizations like @fixnation @spoofdawgrescue @alonaanimal @petsuppliesplushb @petpointoc have made it possible for us to rescue these babies!

Lilly update 🌸
Lily is thriving! If you remember, a little over a week ago we rescued this girl from the shelter less than an hour before she was scheduled to be euthanized. Since then she has been keeping her foster mama on her toes with her playful energy and cute talking!! She'll be getting spayed this week and available for adoption as early as this weekend! 🎉🎉
It's so incredible to think that if her foster mama hadn't volunteered to take her in, Lilly wouldn't be with us today. Fostering saves lives!! 💓
