It’s not always apparent when our pets are experiencing discomfort. In fact, animals often conceal their pain, making the signs easy to overlook. Some are noticeable, such as limping or yelping. Others are more subtle, like sleeping more than usual, seeming less playful, or changes in litter box habits. September is Animal Pain Awareness Month, a reminder to monitor for these clues and consult with your veterinarian if you suspect your pet may be in pain. And remember: never administer human medications to your pet, as many can be toxic.
