Mesmerizing experience getting to watch a group of captive-bred yellow tangs eating frozen food out of an absolutely brilliant Acanthophyllia. Stop by Alaska Coral & Fish LLC to see even more mind blowing wildlife.

Late night feeding of the groupers and yellow tang school. While the groupers (Cromileptes altivelis and Cephalopholis cruentata) are primarily fed meatier foods like mysis shrimp, the yellow tangs (Zebrasoma flavescens) act as the clean up crew, constantly grazing on algae to help keep the tank clean. We also feed these guys Nori soaked in selcon to help boost their immune system.

Ever look at your corals when the lights are off?This Acan Lordhowensis Colony entirely changes as all of its feeding tentacles come out to collect food particles prior to the lights coming on in the morning! Did you know many corals entirely change shape, or size during feeding time?
