Grimes County Animal Rescue was established as a non-profit corporation for the purpose to serve the residents of Grimes County, Texas.

Our board is passionate about finding a solution for the current stray dog and cat situation that Grimes County faces.

This brother and sister combo are our longest cat residents at Grimes County Animal Rescue 🐈 They can be adopted together or separate! Both dog 🐶 cat 🐈‍⬛ and kid friendly! Litter box and crate trained! Come by the Rescue and meet these sweet kitties🐱
They will make the purrrfect addition to any household 🏡 Or make the best Valentine’s Day Gift 💝 💌

Lulu is an 8 year old girl (black and white) who’s had it rough and is looking to settle down in her forever home 🏠 she’s Dog 🐕 friendly and though great with everyone! Prefers a quiet home setting where she can live out her golden years 🌟
Onyx 🖤a black lab pup was taken into foster due to a condition with his legs, where he was walking on his ankles and not the pads of his feet! With ankle braces and a devoted foster family, onyx is now walking on the pads of his feet and can live a completely normal life!
Ken 💓
Ken was not thriving in shelter so was taken into foster with GCARs trainer from TAIL UNIVERSITY 🐕‍🦺 so with adopting Ken you will get a dog already in training. He is getting along great with his foster family’s other dogs and children! He needed a devoted and loving foster so that can he show his true colors🥰
And Sasha!!
The girl who needed serious medical attention, and thanks to the love and support of our community, all funds were raised and she has made a FULL recovery ❤️‍🩹 her foster mom says she’s loyal, protective with no bite, loves walks and other animals! 🐱 🐶

Intake open for cats 🐱

Grimes County Animal Rescue has had 23 adoptions since January 1st! 💙🤍
Thank you all for making this happen and for your continued support! Thanks to you we can open intake for cats 🐈 and go through our waiting list for dogs 🐕 and continue to provide shelter for our abandoned Grimes County pets 🐶 🐱
Due to the over whelming amount of animals dumped, we do not take owner surrenders. Our top priority is getting as many animals off the streets as possible😊

Location changed 💙🤍

Due to the growth of our Puppy Bowl happening on February 8 from 11 to 3 PM! The location has been moved to the Navasota tractor supply! 🚜 Grimes County‘s own version of the puppy bowl! 🐶 🏈
We will have many available puppies for adoption! As well as as vendors, where every purchase will have a portion donated to the rescue! We will also be accepting donations at this event!

Our sweet, senior dog in Foster with Jailah Mackay, is looking for her forever home 🏡
She was found, dropped off at a gas station ⛽️ durring the freeze 🥶 and brought in by GCAR staff! Myla is dog friendly 🐶, cat friendly 🐱, kid friendly, potty trained and leash trained! She is extremely deserving of a permanent home where she can feel safe and secure for the rest of her days. according to her microchip, (owners were called. They do not want her back ) she is 12 years old and practically perfect in every way!

Cher is one of our long term dog 🐶 residents at Grimes County Animal Rescue 🐕 she was brought in as a puppy, born in April, loves to play, dog and kid, friendly 💖 settles after her morning play time and breakfast! She deserves a home with a yard 🏡 to call her own!!

Grimes County Animal Rescue has the CUTEST cattle dogs around male and female yo choose from!! 💙🤍
First up is Izzy !! (Female)
Izzy is one of our longer residence here at GCAR, she would make a great farm dog, she’s great off leash and does not run off. She loves to explore, but never too far and comes when called! Walks great on a leash, potty trained and crate trained. Good with other dogs! 🐕 And kids

Tripp (male)
Trip is back with us, to no fault of his own… His return is due to housing changes 🏡 amazing with kids, other dogs 🐩, cats 🐱 walks great on a leash, potty trained, cratetrained, EXTREMELY LOYAL!

Laylie 💖

Laylie is our smallest dog at Grimes County animal rescue 💙🤍
She is sweet and playful, there is not one person she does not love to meet and LOVES walks 🏃‍♀️
She does love all eyes on her, so prefers to be the only pet in the home or in a home with larger dogs
🏡 she is a mixed breed, but we definitely believe that she has
either Boston terrier or French bulldog 🐶 Size wise, she is definitely more French bulldog size and build! About 20 pounds 💖

Classes will be $40 To anyone who has adopted a dog from Grimes County Animal Reacue (bring proof of adoption)🐩
Stay as long as you want 🙂 and get help with Whatever you need… Most dogs tire after 45 minutes to 1 hour💙🤍

He is the newest addition to Grimes County Animal Rescue 🐶 he was fully vetted, micro chipped, and neutered before coming to the rescue! he is kid friendly, dog and cat, friendly, potty trained, and crate trained ! He is definitely ready for his forever home and has so much love to give 💖

Now that our awesome Iceman has been adopted 💖💖 Harmony is now our longest residing kitty at Grimes County Animal Rescue 🛟 Shes been here since April 2024, she’s sweet, spayed and up to date on all vaccines 💉 dog friendly 🐶 cat friendly 🐈‍⬛ and kid friendly 💙🤍
She would make the Purrrfect addition to any family 🏡
