Rachel and her daughter Lennon recently held a heartwarming fundraiser for Haven Humane! They made homemade dog treats and sold them to friends, family, and social media contacts, raising an amazing $330. Rachel brought the donation to Petsmart, where she and Lennon even got a quick selfie with Diana and Knuckles, who were out front. Check out these adorable photos of the two of them with their treat bags and their visit to Petsmart! 🐾💙

At 9 months old and 42 lbs, Frodo is a hound mix ready to embark on the greatest adventure of all: finding his forever home! 🏡 He’s already shown us at the shelter that he knows "sit", "stay", and he’s working on learning “paw” (he’s a quick learner, we think a little magic might be involved 😉).

Frodo loves a good game of fetch and is always ready for a walk to explore new scents and sights. He has been friendly and excited to meet new people at the shelter. His curiosity and playful nature make him the perfect sidekick for anyone looking for a loyal and fun companion.

Adopters LLoyd and Kim share with us an update on Toni (formerly Monroe), who was adopted from Haven earlier this year:

"Monroe is doing great and we love her very much. Her first week was a little stressful for her adapting to her new home. She just keeps getting better with every passing week.

She was a little naughty at first, like stealing food off the kitchen counter. And chewing shoes up. She responds well to a small scolding and tries not to repeat it she is very smart and wants to please.

We changed her name to Toni. Look forward to a faithful friend for years to come."

🐾 Meet Playtime Pro, Blair! ❤

Blair is a 6-year-old, 53-pound pit mix with a heart full of adventure! She loves to explore and sniff her way through new places, taking in all the sights, smells, and sounds around her. Whether it's a stroll through the park or a visit to a new spot, Blair is always eager to discover something new!

Blair has been doing wonderfully with other dogs at the shelter, and recently, she had a blast at our Doggy Playgroup! She met two awesome new friends, Bart and Vinca, and the trio had a fantastic time playing together. It's clear that Blair has a social side and loves to have fun with her furry pals.

Happy Foster Friday! Meet Knuckles, a Cat & Kid Friendly Pup!

Here is a description from his foster mom, Diana:

"He is approximately a year old, neutered, and available for adoption. I call him Puppy, because he still is one. Haven Humane Society saved him and his pack from a dire situation of abuse and neglect. He is blossoming into such a wonderful dog with consistent food, walks, car rides, and training. He is learning to trust that most humans are good and don’t want to hurt him. He is the cuddliest and most kissy/affectionate dog I’ve ever known. He’s very human-focused and will bond deeply with his people.

He loves almost every dog he has met (still has a hard time when little barky dogs run at him), has had playdates with a 7-month-old Labradoodle puppy and played for hours in their pool, and has gone camping with 18 other people, with half of them being children. He has an affinity for children and my 7-month-old kitten. He would do great in a home with dog-savvy children, dogs, and cats.

He would also make an excellent hiking or running buddy as he always walks on a loose leash. He could also be trained to be a mountain biking dog, once he is securely bonded with his human. And oh, how this dog loves water!! He loves being on a paddle board or kayak as well as swimming. What a long way he has come in a short amount of time."

Your happily ever after is waiting for you! 💕

Meet Shasta! This cuddly girl is as velcro as they come!

At 41 lbs, Shasta is a great size for those of us who aren’t prepared to take on a small horse. 🤣 This 5 year old, Hound mix has been patiently waiting for her forever and we can’t think of a Pet of the Week more deserving than this gentle girl.

Shasta was rescued from a home where she had been carelessly abandoned. After coming to the shelter, she was soon adopted by a loving family who fell head over heels for her. Unfortunately, due to an unforeseen health crisis, the family had to return Shasta to us- much to their heartbreak. 😢

Shasta’s life has been full of instability, but that has never stopped her from befriending all who she encounters. She is always ready for a cuddle and a face lick! Shasta enjoys toys and play, but most of all she is looking for belly rubs and to snuggle up on the couch. 🥰

She recently went on a field trip to the Sundial, and she loved getting so much attention (and a pup cup 😉). We think Shasta would be a great choice for most! Her size, temperament, and energy level are just right for a huge variety of homes. Shasta is great socially with other dogs, but would prefer to be the only pup at home as she does not want to share the spotlight.
