Jira helped me out with a new job. The goats haven’t been letting the pig eat and especially now that we got her some pig food, they want to steal it. Besides the pig needing to eat, pig feed is also not good for goats. Sarah came over for a visit and handled Mugen in bitework! Thank you for working with him Sarah! There was a cute moment at the beginning; Mugen was being a good boy and controlling himself for Sarah without being told to. Anya is a super sweet dog with a fluffy personality. She adores Tinito and follows him around like his shadow, he can handle her in public places, with other kids, etc and she’s super safe. In protection though, she definitely got her mom’s fiery disposition and can be an angry little thing! She was raised as a pet and has been worked here and there since being with us but has always had strong naturally ability when it comes to her attitude/mentality in bitework. This is with Tino and mainly working on eye contact for barking, not trying to piss her off, but you can still see the attitude! She definitely makes me feel a lot safer about Tinito’s safety, I definitely think she means it! I love this pup! She’s such a fun little dog, she’s very active but clear, great natural barking, good hard grips, absolutely full of herself, and she hates sharing 🤣 Definitely the highest possession out of any dog I’ve owned so far. If you enjoy watching dogs make their own decisions you may find this interesting. This is another food guarding session, Jira is great at grouping them up and has a good eye for it. There’s a cool point where she sees Nala leaving the group and opts to back out and circle wide instead of putting direct pressure. This is a smart approach as it’s less likely to break up the flock and it’s cool to see her be so aware of her own pressure. @cyrenarose brought Chancla out and we did her second bitework session ever, first one with Cyrena as her handler and first time with Tino(her original handler). She did great! So Natsu is not a big pusher, he generally prefers to get a good hold and keep it calmly. But he loves biting Tino and his true asshole side comes out when he knows he’s gotten Tino in a bad spot. I wish I wouldn’t have stopped recording so soon! I’ve been letting Jira help with penning the sheep up on occasion and I’m super happy with how she has been doing! I’ve been making myself shut up and trust her more and she’s been making some cool decisions! She actually went into a stalk here and calmly pressured them towards the pasture. She stopped herself and came back to me but the cool part (where I stopped recording 🤦‍♀️) is that after she returned to the sheep she penned them up and actually stopped herself at the gate threshold with zero input! I’m super excited for what the future has in store for her! I love this little pup, she taught herself a pretty good out just from watching the other dogs. The first out is even chewy for what she’s been doing, I love how hard she tries to be a good girl! I think she also realized from watching the adults that it’s a way to restart the game. I’ve never done a single session on this with her, she happened to do it one day while I was asking my older dog to out, I rewarded her and on a hunch tried it with her one on one.
