Warning! Long Post but worth reading.
The scam hunting supply profiles are popping up everywhere with Christmas coming. We realize everyone is looking for a deal so here are a few things to look for to help you determine if it’s legit.
1. Most legit companies aren’t spamming Facebook groups with generic pictures and crazy low prices. Especially on New items because manufacturers dictate the pricing a lot of the time. If you see “great” deals by a “Hunting Supply” or “Hound Supply” company you’ve never heard of and they are spam posting unbelievable deals on multiple groups please do your homework.
2. Look at their posts or profile pictures. If it’s just continual pictures of old units that all have different backgrounds like different tables, houses, walls, etc. with just a price and no descriptions then there is a good chance they are just using other “for sale” images from Facebook. Also, if there is not legit website links to buy in the post or the comments just show the page replying privately and never answering anyone publicly. Beware.
3. Look closely at the sales ads these pages post. They may look legit but look closer at the ad and you’ll usually see the original companies logo somewhere in the picture that they missed covering up.
4. Click on their profile and look for identifiable information like addresses, website, phone numbers that work or can be verified with Google.
5. Check their website, I just looked at one after getting a call from a customer that was offering new Alpha 100s and Astro 320s (neither are in production) but had pictures of Alpha 300s in the description. They also were selling $1k new aluminum dog boxes for less than used units.
If it seems to good to be true it usually is. You don’t have to buy from us. There are other great supply shops out there. But we don’t want to see anyone scammed out of their hard earned money.
