April showers bring May flowers.
🐾
April snow you still need to be protected from ticks
🐾
The below chart is from Companion Animal Parasite Council. Essex County has 1 out of 5 dogs testing positive for Anaplasmosis.
Anaplasmosis is a tick-borne bacterial disease that infects a dog’s bloodstream. There are two forms of the disease, one transmitted by deer ticks and one by brown dog ticks. Some dogs may not show any signs of illness, but others may develop fever, joint pain, lethargy, and bleeding problems. The disease can be diagnosed by blood tests and treated with antibiotics. The best way to prevent anaplasmosis is to use tick preventatives year-round.
🐾
Don't let snow or even cooler temperatures make you believe the ticks are at bay. They are very hardy and know how to protect themselves even in snow! This is why we recommend year-round preventative.

We couldn’t help but share this wonderful transition with you all…
Meet Frank, a new foster pet of one of our staff members, Kasia.
Frank came to Kasia very overweight, had severe dental disease and was found to be in a diabetic crisis when he arrived to her.
With a lot of veterinary care, and incredible dedication by Kasia, this sweet boy is well on his way to living his best life with her.
In the first video, you can see him learning how to walk and exercise. Fast forward 6 weeks this boy is healthy, playful, and already down 7 pounds. We’re so happy to see this sweet pug thriving! 🐾❤️
🐾 Our day started out with these 5 adorable chunks this morning! 🐾
Dr. Keramaty and our surgical team quickly assisted a sweet momma who was having some trouble delivering on her own and performed an emergency c-section.
Momma and her lively babies are all doing great!
We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!
Rest assure our staff is here and we are open our normal business hours through this storm.
Please be safe, and don’t hesitate to call should you need any assistance with your pet.
Let’s see some holiday pictures of your pets to go with this the beautiful snow falling outside!

One of the fastest growing treatment modalities in modern medicine is the use of therapy laser to treat all sorts of conditions. It has even been approved by many insurance companies in human medicine, proving its efficiency and supportive research.
We typically will use it for orthopedic and soft tissue injury or diseases- osteoarthritis, torn crucial ligaments, and herniated discs being the most common.
Do you have an animal that you think would benefit from laser?
