Keeping your pet comfortable and healthy after surgery starts with proper incision care! 🐾💙 Here are 3 essential tips:
1. Avoid bathing your pet or letting the incision get wet until cleared by your veterinarian. If needed, cover the area with a sterile dressing to protect it.
2. Licking can lead to infection or delayed healing. Use an e-collar, inflatable collar, or recovery suit to block access, and keep your pet distracted with toys or chews.
3. Check the surgical site twice daily for any signs of redness, swelling, discharge, or an unusual odor, as these may indicate infection.

Follow these steps for a smooth recovery!

Time to check—are your pet’s flea, tick, and heartworm preventatives up to date?

Monthly prevention helps protect against parasites before they become a problem. If you’re unsure what’s due, we’re just a call away.

📅 A quick calendar reminder can go a long way in keeping your pet protected.

Today is Respect Your Cat Day! 🐱

Being a good cat parent means learning to speak their language. Here's how to show your feline friend the respect they deserve:

- Watch their tail - a swishing tail often means "time to stop"
- Notice their ear position - flattened ears signal overstimulation
- Pay attention to skin twitching - this could mean petting time is over
- Give them space when they walk away
- Let them come to you for attention
- Respect their "no" when they don't want to be held
- Provide hiding spots and high perches

Remember: A happy cat is one whose boundaries are respected! 😺

🐾 Fozzy’s Transformation: A Pain-Free Life Makes All the Difference 🐾

We often tell pet parents that when we change a pet’s relationship with pain, the results can be even more profound than expected—and Fozzy is the perfect example.

Fozzy’s journey hasn’t been easy. As a kitten, he suffered a severe leg fracture that required multiple surgeries, leaving him with a lifelong limp and significant muscle loss. But since starting Solensia in 2022 and receiving it consistently since, his family has witnessed incredible changes.

His pain relief was expected, but what truly surprised everyone was his continued muscle development. His once-weak “chicken leg” is now nearly as strong as the other, and he’s moving with more ease than ever before.

We love seeing how effective pain management can truly transform lives. If your pet is struggling with mobility or chronic pain, let’s discuss options to help them feel their best.

❌ True or False? ❌
Human medications like aspirin and ibuprofen are safe for pets in small amounts.

👉 Do you think this is true or false?

Always check with your vet before giving your pet any medications, even if they seem harmless. 💊🐾

The answer is… False!
Human medications like aspirin and ibuprofen can be extremely toxic to pets, even in small amounts. These meds can cause serious health issues like kidney failure, gastrointestinal problems, and more. Always keep medications out of your pet's reach, and consult your vet before giving anything to your pet!

🐾 Did You Know? Nearly 40% of cats show clinical signs of osteoarthritis (OA), but only 13% are diagnosed. Cats are experts at hiding pain, so it’s essential to watch for subtle changes like reduced activity or reluctance to jump.

If you think your cat might be affected, schedule a visit with us to discuss ways we can help them feel their best. 🐾
