Since I was a young child I knew my future was with animals, i just wasn't sure which path to follow in the beginning. I studied at the University of Wisconsin River Falls in Field Biology and Psychology hoping to pursue a career working in a Zoo setting, I even had my internship at the Minnesota Zoo in Behavior Management! Throughout my college career I found that what I truly loved, and understo

od, about animals was their behavior. What motivates them, how they function and think and learn and then how we as people perceive these behaviors. After graduating I applied to hundreds of zoos with no response (this is a very hard field to get into). Here I fell in love with the simplicity and intricacies of dogs. I started to figure out my calling. In 2010 I also started working at the Wildlife Science Center, and through my amazing boss and coworkers I gained a much greater respect and knowledge not only about dogs but wolves, bears, cougars etc. It was when I started my career with Minnesota Veterinary Hospital that I finally found my true calling, working with domestic cats and dogs-pets. I absolutely adore the responsibility and privilege of being able to care for people's fur babies. My goal is to always make your pet feel the way my pet feels, loved. I understand how much we all care for our pets, and I hope that when I watch your pets that you feel comfortable that your pet is receiving the best care possible. Cousin Westley is staying with us for the next week while his mommy is in Scotland! Sully and Lyra are in love, Mishka is indifferent (she's an old lady). We just got over puppy stage with Sully, so now back at it with West!

Too say "it's been awhile" would be an understatement.

With everything we have had going on in the last year, Kaja's illness, her passing, Mishka's injury and then adopting our new pup Sully...we have fallen a bit off in our pet sitting.

We want to let our friends know we are still pet sitting but in a more limited fashion. We love our guest dogs and friends but we realized we need to focus more on our family as well.

Please still let us know if you need us to watch your fur baby and we will be sure to let you know our availability! We are limiting our number of guest dogs more and taking fewer new clients to accommodate our senior lady Mishka and young buck Sully.

So you may have noticed a new face at the house, we welcomed Sullivan last week into our family! This squishy faced ball of energy love love loves other dogs but unfortunately his love for his friends also got him in a bit of trouble.

As a small 14 wk puppy, he tried really hard to keep up with the big dogs and they unfortunately knocked into him pretty hard causing him to fracture his tibial crest, a growth plate in his knee. 😭 (This was a complete freak accident and I guess common in puppies)

Since the bone has not displaced (moved away from the knee) we are trying to go the route of rest for 6 weeks in hopes it will heal on its own. (If it gets displaced, we have get surgery).

What this means...we cannot have our friends over until he is healed. Having fur friends over would be the equivalent of your parents throwing a pool party with all your friends but you have a broken leg and can't participate...just sad and mean 🤣

Our luck with our dogs has been pretty rough these last few months with Kaja's issues, Mishka tearing her ACL and now Sullivan's injury.. but we will be back, just bear with us please ❤️

Well the hits keep coming! Old lady Mishka has run off cliffs, through barbed wire, has chased elk in Colorado...and now at the ripe age of 13 has torn her ACL.

She is doing well and we have her on pain management and scheduled for a surgical fix in May. If we do decide to follow through with surgery, we will sadly not be taking any of our 4 legged friends for at least a few months while she recovers.

ALL currently booked stays are still on! We will just be more cautious with Mishka as to not let her overdo the fun.

We appreciate all of our friends and we will keep everyone posted on our decisions as we adjust to her new gimpy lifestyle ❤️

Well I guess I got so tied up in New Years I forgot to welcome miss Rosie back with us! The girls are doing what most of us are on this very frigid New Years weekend...napping.

Happy New Years everyone. We wish all the best to our friends bother 2 legged and 4 legged.

I have to be honest. It has been a rough couple of weeks after losing one of our Matriarchs. Kaja never really "enjoyed" our dog sitting but she tolerated it. She tolerated puppies invading her space, she tolerated the dogs who tried so very hard to get her to play, she tolerated her ever changing schedule...and she even made a few friends. To say we miss her is an understatement. But life has a way of moving forward...

Today we welcomed our first guest dog since Kaja's passing. Miss Rosie is back and ready to play hard with Lyra and bring some smiles back to our faces.

We are so excited to have our friends coming back ❤️

Hi friends,
It is with a lot of thought and deliberation that we have decided to take a short break from pet sitting after this weekend.

Many of you know our sweet old lab Kaja, well lately she has been experiencing some significant health issues including loss of eye sight, severe spondylosis, lack of coordination and some severe neurological symptoms. In the past months she has gotten progressively worse. Kaja's lack of coordination and loss of strength in her legs has made having rambunctious guest dogs a risk to her safety and well being.

As much as we love all of our crazy guests, we need to take time to put Kaja first. We hope you all know that we love all our fur guests and that we will be back! Give all your babies a big hug and kiss from us and any positive thoughts you can throw our way are appreciated.

It was a weekend full of play! Lyra and Maia spent 12 hours a day tiring eachother out and Maia has now headed home to rest up until next time.

We also had a new friend meet and greet, meet Norman the Dogue De Bordeaux! This big guy is a gentle giant and we cannot wait until we get to watch him ❤️

Now it's time for every to get some much needed sleep and relaxation. Until the next friend arrives 😊

If you watch closely you can see that while Blue appears to play with Lyra, her real target is Mishka. These 2 ladies have been best buds for years, they may be older now but they still love getting together!

Welcome back Rosie!! These 2 are the best of buddies and play ALL day long, even when tired they find a way to mouth box

We really lucked out when we adopted G. She is such a good judge if character and so patient with guest dogs(for a cat) Mr. Winston is infatuated with her. He constantly play bows to her in hopes she will take the invite to play...she does not. But it's pretty dang adorable either way.

Our cousin Briggs came out to visit today in this gorgeous spring weather and miss Rosie thinks she is the toughest dog out here!

Day 2 is always much more relaxed and fun than day 1. For those of you that don't know, day 1 for a guest dogs (especially one who has never stayed with us before) is exciting but also very stressful! They have no idea where their family went or why. They don't know our home or these other dogs. They don't know our rules. Day2: the real fun begins! The new guest dog realizes this is a fun place, this is a safe place and they miss their families just a little less. Day 2 is this video 🥰
