Heaven Scent K9 Our mission is to enrich the lives of canines & their owners by providing high standards of training, boarding and grooming.

Our business is a collaboration between mother and daughter: Pamela Peas and Jacklyn Brown. Jacklyn has wanted to open her own dog-related facility since her early years in high school. Her passion for training dogs is something that has only grown since she first began training her dog competitively in 2009. She graduated 2 semesters early from Trine University with a Bachelor's degree in managem

ent and became a certified K9 handler in 2018. Pamela grew up in Illinois and was raised on a farm. She taught fifth grade at an elementary school where she would often take her yellow Labrador Bailey to school with her and use him for interactive games with the students. Pam moved to Indiana with her husband Mark and made the decision to stay home and raise their 4 children. She has been active in the Wabash 4-H Dog Club parent committee and has traveled to visit Jacklyn on her K9 jobs. Jacklyn is thankful her mother gave her the opportunity to open a business together to do something they both love.

Welcome B&T Kash!
Kash is a 1 year old Aussie that’s here for 2 weeks of training. Although he’s social, he pulls and reacts toward dogs on walks, he jumps on guests and his owner, he is reactive to the vacuum and mop, and finds the groomer and vet to be very stressful. He’s also frequently on high alert at home, often barking at seemingly nothing. This is our To Do list! 📋

Kash has had a head start with a little training here leading up to this, so we’re ready to get cruising along! Stay tuned to our 24 hour stories to watch his progress 🤍

🐾 UPCOMING CLASSES 🐾

We still have a couple spots left in the following classes:
• Basic Obedience Group: starting January 23, each Thursday from 6-7pm for 7 weeks. Total cost $225

• Canine Good Citizen Group: starting February 24, each Monday from 6-7pm for 6 weeks. Total cost $225. AKC testing done on the last night of class

• Any therapy dog training will be done individually, information is on our website.

B&T Arlo went home! Arlo’s spent 3 weeks working on his manners, obedience & neutrality around dogs. He can become excited when he sees them & stand up on two legs which is really a sight for such a big boy!

We also drilled recall so he comes on command rather than making his owners corner him in their fenced-in yard using creative methods 🤣 he’s such a fun, goofy dog and we look forward to hearing updates on how he’s doing at home! ☺️

B&T Annie went home! 🏡 She spent the last 3 weeks with us improving her obedience, manners & off leash control. We worked on teaching her better alternatives to problem behaviors she likes to partake in: darting through doorways, jumping on doors & cars, launching into vehicles and chasing the cat.

We used mental & physical fulfillment, obedience skills & e collar control to show her better ways to behave. Annie’s a good girl with a bright future ahead! 🫶🏻

Roko the Brittany just finished 2 weeks of training with us! He’s a sweet, sweet young pup (8 months) that worked on foundational obedience & e collar introduction. He plans to do retriever training in his future, so we kept that in mind with prioritizing recall, confidence & retrieves throughout his obedience-focused B&T. I’m looking forward to seeing him again in January for his follow up lesson! 🤍

My 11 year old dog with 4 missing teeth & 3 knee surgeries is cooler than your dog .. I’d also hate to see what this animal could do if it hadn’t been too close to dinner time 🤣

Little Samson got his first bird exposure in his private lesson! His owner hopes for him to be a bird dog & shed hunter if all pans out in his future 🦆 He’s off to a great start & cute as a button 🧡

B&T Kira struggles with confidence, especially in new environments. She would react to new surroundings by barking incessantly. She also has fled out of fear & was hit by a car very recently. Therefore, confidence is our biggest priority with this young one! I am encouraging exploration & independence by following Kira around with the leash hooked to her thick flat collar. A harness would work well for this also. I want to encourage pulling & her leading the way while in a safe environment thats a place she can succeed in. It’s important not to pick a place that would be too overwhelming for your dog, just appropriately challenging. Good girl, Kira! 🌸
