Professional retriever training and handling for AKC Licensed Field Trials Alan’s passion for retrievers began with his father and childhood hunting trips.

Alan & Gwen Pleasant began training national quality retrievers in 1985 and have produced 6 National Field Champions, over 75 Field Champions and Amateur Field Champions, over 50 All Age Qualified Retrievers, over 25 Derby list retrievers, Master National Hunt Test Qualifiers and countless excellent hunting retrievers. Trainer and handler Alan Pleasant brings a dedication and work ethic to the sp

ort of retriever training that is not duplicated. He got his first labrador retriever at 14 years of age and trained her to duck hunt. The groundwork was laid and Alan became a professional in 1985. In 1999, after qualifying and running several Master Nationals, Alan dedicated his talents to licensed AKC Field Trials. Since 2001, Alan has qualified and competed in every National Open (until the 2020 Covid Pandemic) and has had clients competing in every National Amateur. Alan strives to maximize the talents of every retriever he trains with an emphasis on team work that leads to winning.

We could not be more proud of Mark and Fleurt! He has been a very loyal client and has gave a lot to the sport for many years this is well deserved!!! So many thanks to Hunter Street for all his hard work. A special thanks to Fleurt for being such a special girl. A big thanks to Sussie for being so supportive and loving these dogs as much as we do and for always adding laughs 😀

* This is so much more than a Jam!! This is what determination and never giving up is all about. It's been almost a year since she got sick with most of the summer spent in and out of the hospital to being able to drive herself on Sunday to finish the trial.

Congratulations to all 13 teams going to the 10th series of the National Championship! This years championship has been held in Creswell, Oregon. Today the National Champion of 2023 will be named. So the next time you want to complain about the test,the judges,the grounds why don’t you waste your energy on helping. (No we didn’t have any issues at the trial) I just get tired of the negativity!
