❄️ Cryotherapy & 🐎 Equine Lymphatic Drainage

Cold exposure stimulates muscle contractions and causes the initial constriction and later dilation of vessels which may facilitate the pumping of lymph fluid through the lymphatic system.

Increasing lymphatic drainage helps aid in treating and managing a range of equine health issues, from swollen limbs, lymphangitis and cellulitis to metabolic disorders like laminitis and Equine metabolic syndrome (EMS). It also promotes overall energy in horses and aids in post-injury recovery.

Does your horse have a tendon injury??

The superficial digital flexor tendon (SDFT) is to support and stabilize the fetlock joint. The SDFT supports a lot of weight and receives a significant amount of stress during activities such as jumping, over training, sudden stopping making it highly susceptible to injuries.
It has been proven that using cryotherapy significantly reduces the recovery time of the SDFT tendon.

We were able to feel and see the heat from the inflammation in this older retired horses knees. After we used the cryotherapy on the knees the heat and inflammation was reduced. We are able to noticeable see the horse was feeling better after this session.

Laminitis is never a diagnosis horse owners want to hear. This inflammatory condition of the hoof can be crippling, and some horses may need to be euthanized due to the unrelenting pain.
