Photo dump of today's post lunch shenanigans in the house.

Their previous house time has been limited mainly to the living room. Today I didn't put up the baby gate so they got to run around most of the first floor. They also crossed several items off their list of things to experience. To the previous list that included outdoor things like horses, chickens, tractors, lawn mowers, and leaf blowers and the indoor things that included radio, TV, adult human males yelling at football refs on TV, and lots and lots of vacuuming they have now added a couple new flooring surfaces, washing machine, dryer, bath fan, dishwasher, toilet flushing, water running in the sink, kitchen timer and microwave. 😊

Zelda lovin' on her babies. 🥰

Normally by this stage the girls are pretty much done with them. They'll give the puppies a couple little sips a day, but that's it. Zelda will typically stay with them until they have completely drained her dry. We're trying to keep this to just 1-2 times a day, as they certainly don't need milk at this point and we'd like for her to start spending the copious amounts of calories she is consuming to put weight back on and get back in condition rather than continuing to produce milk... but she thinks otherwise. Sometimes after they've drained the last drop she leaves. But often she just enjoys hanging out with them. It's raining this afternoon so no outside play. She thought that was fine and was happy to just hang out with them in their pen. They are learning some very good lessons from her to be sure. 😊

We are so thrilled with how these puppies are developing, especially in the "cleanliness" department. Fortunately we've had mild weather allowing for multiple trips outside each day, and they are really getting the hang of going potty outside. First thing in the morning, we go outside and everyone potties. Outside again after breakfast, and everyone potties. Same for lunch, dinner, before bed, and sometimes a few more times throughout the day. They are keeping their pen pretty much spotless. Any peeing and pooping not done outside is always in the litterboxes. This is mostly overnight while the human servants are sleeping. Let them out of the pen, and they run straight for the door to go outside to potty. Once they finish eating, again straight to the door to go outside to potty.

With how we'll they're doing we're going to expand the pen to full size in the next day or so. And teach them how to use the dog door to the outside kennel and they can start having access to that during the day while the weather stays nice.

Later this week they'll get to practice their opera singing as we start crate training. 😆
