Hello and thank you for stopping by! My name is Dana, and I am excited to assist you with your pet needs. Growing up on a farm, animals have always been an important part of my life. I live with my two cats and a guinea pig that requires my attention.

I am friendly, outgoing, and easy to get along with. I work hard for you and your animals because I believe every pet deserves tender loving care and to be treated like family. Additionally, I am the mother of four grown children. Now that I have some free time, I am also attending Eastern Michigan University, where I hope to earn a degree in Therapeutic Recreation.

Hello! My name is Shona Terpay. I taught elementary school for over 23 years, I’m an artist, and I love animals!!

I am also a therapy dog handler. I love training and playing, walking and talking with animals! I love being outside!

I’ve had many pets and opportunities to be around animals throughout my life, including my last three golden retrievers.

I really look forward to working with you and your pets. I’m not afraid of snakes, love horses, cats, dogs and creatures big and small.

It is estimated that more than 300 dogs took part in the search, rescue and recovery efforts at ground zero in the aftermath of 9/11. In addition to search and rescue dogs, therapy dogs were also brought in to provide much-needed comfort to first responders.

Today on the anniversary of 9/11, we pause to remember our heroes—both human and canine.

Welcome to the Happy Hearts Pet Care TEAM - Mia Miller!

Hi! I'm Mia and my heart is so happy to be able to be a part of the Happy Hearts team!

I love learning about and caring for all kinds of animals, with my personal experiences including dogs, cats, fish, rodents, and birds, with babysitting a few more kinds or animals as well. Some of the next kinds of pets I would love to have include shrimp, stag beetles, and my dream of having my own Shiba Inu. I have had a special love of dogs since I was a child, always making it a goal to better understand how and what dogs try to communicate to us with what they have.

While I'm at home with my own pet in my lap (my sweet and silly kitty), I love drawing and ideaing my own worlds, characters, and creatures. I am always being inspired by the world around me and all of its lovely animals.

Not a pet sitters favorite holiday for obvious reasons but we sure hope that you all enjoy your 4th of July holiday weekend.
A few tips to help your pet get through.
Keep windows and blinds closed. Turn up the music or TV, use some lavender scents around the house, use a thunder shirt or even a tight T-shirt to help your pup feel comforted. Remember your pet will feed off your energy too so keep yourself calm. Take your pups out on a secure leash before dark. Make sure they have up to date tags and micro chipID just in case something unforeseen happens.
