TINY TICKS * BIG THREAT
We have recently had an uptick (sorry for the pun) in tick-transmitted diseases in many of our dog patients here at Animal Kingdom. Just because it's winter, don't be fooled into thinking that all the ticks are gone.
The tick-borne diseases that we see most frequently include Ehrlichia, Lyme, and Anaplasmosis. The American Veterinary Medical Association suggests that Tick prevention is considered more important and effective than the Lyme vaccine. Tick prevention products can protect your dog from all types of tick-borne diseases.
We recommend the use of Nexgard Plus. This chewable protects dogs against Ticks, Fleas, Heartworm, and most Intestinal Parasites.
Take home message: Ticks are Alive Through the Winter & Prevention is Key.
