Avery's Animal Care

Avery's Animal Care Avery's Animal Care in Anna, Texas services all types and breeds of animals. Avery is a 7 year old entrepreneur with a love for all animals.
(7)

She is homeschooled in Anna, Tx. and takes any and every opportunity to include animals in her studies. Avery's dream is to become a veterinarian and has started to save for college. She plans to graduate highschool with an Associate's Degree in Veterinary Medicine so that she can begin work in her field while she completes her Bachelor's and applies to Veterinary School. Avery wanted a way to ear

n money while doing something that she loves. When she found out there was a market for caring for animals as if they were her own pets, she couldn't believe it. She immediately said that it's what she wanted to do! While Avery is young, she is incredibly responsible, especially when it comes to animals. All of Avery's animal services are under parental supervision. We believe that while she would love to do each job entirely herself, supervision and guidance are important for the health and safety of both Avery and your pet(s). We are involved only to perform the supervision and guidance necessary for her to succeed.

🐾🍉 **Attention all Doggos!** 🍉🐾 Did you know that watermelon can be a yummy and hydrating treat for us? It's packed with vitamins A, C, and B6 which are great for our health. But remember, have your human remove the seeds and rind. Also, just like all yummy treats, too much can lead to tummy troubles like diarrhea. Enjoy in moderation for a juicy and refreshing snack! 🐶💦

**URGENT APPEAL: Our shelter is currently at 195% capacity on dogs and has no room for incoming pets. We desperately need your help!
We're calling on all potential adopters and fosters to helps save lives and make a difference. **

This album is for the dogs in need at Collin County Animal Services. Please share in hopes of finding them rescues or forever homes! If the shelter runs out of space any dogs that are available could be at risk for euthanasia. The dogs at the top of the album have been at the shelter the longest. This page is run by volunteers and we do not always know which dogs are in most danger; however any free kennel helps since the shelter euthanizes when they run out of space..

FYI if you are seeing more coyotes out and about be wildlife aware. Start teaching them now to stay hidden. Make noise and make the wildlife uncomfortable being near people and pets. Never attempt to handle wildlife. Allen Animal Services Officers are trained and ready to help when needed. We are just a phone call away.

This ADORABLE little sunbather is spending his 13th (YES! THIRTEENTH!) birthday with us!

This isn’t Volcom’s first stay with us and as any chihuahua parent knows, the older they get the more particular they get about everything! But something MAGICAL happened this visit! On today of all days, this little gentleman woke up and decided he wanted endless loves, pets and scratches from not only Avery, but her loud twin brothers and me as well. 🥰 Prior to today, our relationship with him had been one of mutual respect and respecting his boundaries and his need to distance. He didn’t want to be held or touched and would hide away if we even thought about talking to him too much. But today, on his 13th birthday, he has decided that he will take all the love we have to give (from ear rubs to b***y scratches and everything in between).

We just feel SO special that he has chosen to make us a part of his pack. ❤️❤️❤️

Avery had the pleasure of meeting Christina recently and hired her to come by and do nail maintenance on her two bunnies. Christina was a pleasure and she is affordable, gentle and speedy! The best part, she is mobile and comes to your home where your pet feels most comfortable! ❤️

If you have a pet who needs a nail trim and you can’t or don’t feel comfortable doing it yourself, reach out to Christina at Mutt Manicures!

*****Trigger Warning*****
Those with weak tummies may want to scroll past this post. ❤️

So, one of the perils of pet sitting is pups with sensitive tummies or pups who develop stress colitis when there is a change in routine. Stress colitis is VERY common in dogs.

Rest assured, Avery will always go the extra mile to make sure your babies are happy, healthy and loved. With mom’s help, Avery will make sure any kennel accidents that happen while you are away are promptly cleaned up. This particular client developed some GI issues while her mom was away and both the pup, her toys and her kennel needed frequent bathing. That wasn’t a problem for Avery! It’s just part of treating each pet like they are her very own. ❤️

*The pup in question (a very GI sensitive breed) is feeling MUCH better now and her mom is working with her veterinarian to help make sure she is healthy and that her GI issue has resolved. ❤️

Avery has been working hard with Miss Bella these past two weeks. Bella is a baby and hasn’t had a chance to learn puppy basics, so Avery is trying her hand at teaching her what she can. In just one week Bella has mastered “place”, “sit” and “down” and is now working on “stay” and “leave it” this week! Bella is one of Avery’s daily drop in clients in ATS!

Avery had the pleasure of taking care of these beautiful foster babies in Anna recently! I mixed up two of the girls names in the video eeek. However, two of these precious babies (both light tortie girls, Violet and Eloise) have not yet been adopted at their adoption events.

If you are interested in adopting one of these babies, please contact their rescue: Four Paws One Heart Inc - Trophy Club TX - Reunite/Rescue/Rehome

Wow, once again Avery has been so busy taking care of babies (often with the help of her two junior helpers) that her secretary (aka mom) has failed to keep her page updated. Here are just a few of the wonderful faces she has been caring for this summer!

Be sure to get those Holiday bookings in as she books up fast!

Avery will be out of town 6/30-7/7 for her family reunion.

We have made arrangements for a backup caregiver during her absence. Although we would prefer that clients and their pet parents meet a backup caregiver ahead of time, we do understand emergencies arise.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out should something come up and you need emergency drop in care. We will coordinate everything and make sure your babies receive the same quality of care and love they get from Avery. ❤️

06/14/2023

Here is your friendly reminder that the 4th of July is coming up! Make sure your pets all have collars with current tags that include a current phone number and/or address. Consider an appointment to have your pet chipped if not already. If your dog may need medication, please put in a call to your veterinarian now to give them time to call in your prescription. If you haven't tried a thundershirt, it works for some pups, especially if you won't be home to comfort them. If your dog prefers to hide from the sound, allow them to as long as their hiding place is safe. Take your dog for a long walk and provide lots of exercise prior to the fireworks. You can also try a white noise machine (if you don't have one you can stream white noise from your tv or phone via YouTube) or turn up your television or stereo during the worst of it.

Consider placing large temporary notes on both sides of all doors (and gates if necessary) leading to the outside to remind family members to keep the door closed. Dogs may try to bolt through an open door when scared. Last, make sure your back yard is secure (no holes under fence and gates are secured). Your dog may need to potty and even if the large fireworks shows are finished, there are always people illegally shooting some in the city limits and residential streets. The last thing either of you need is an escape from the yard.

If this is your dogs first experience with fireworks, please call your vet to see if they recommend a calming supplement or if they will call in some “as needed” medication. Also, take a few current photos of your pet TODAY!

Above all, give them lots of extra love and support. Your dog doesn't know what fireworks are and will be relying on you for reassurance during this crazy event.

IF your pet does escape your home, immediately post on your local community sites using he new photos you just took!

Spring has arrived and Avery has been very busy being a stand-in mama/sibling to pets across North Texas. ❤️ Over the past months she had the opportunity to care for Pistol, Pete and Jules, Niko, Loki, Brisket and Klohe, Sutter and Tye, Gus, Nugget and Tootsie, Bruce, Cricket and Frances, Mando, Zeus and Tinkerbell, Odessa and Prince, Penny, Buttercup, Allie and Remmy and Shelby and Luna!

Please enjoy a few candid shots of these special babies. ❤️ While I missed getting photos of everyone (even Avery’s mama needs to give them loves and pets) that doesn’t make them any less special. Thank you to everyone for continuing to trust Avery to care for your babies while you are away. ❤️

What a BUSY Spring Break this year! Avery had her biggest week EVER! She cared for 18 dogs, one cat, one bearded dragon, and an aquarium! We drove over 1000 miles in just that one week! We were constantly on the go and she took a well-deserved break these last few days. ❤️ Now we’re back to our regular homeschool schedule and her regular weekly client's.

Of course, mama failed to take photos of everyone. 🤦‍♀️ Avery LOVES her business and her clients! Thank you for continuing to trust Avery with the care of your treasured family members. ❤️
