Our first rescue mission was in Oct 2022, during Hurricane Ian, and this year we were part of the initial response efforts for Hurricane Helene. That first flight saved 33 cats, and in the wake of Helene, we rescued over 500 animals, delivered 10,000+ lbs. of supplies, and made multiple flights a day to provide as much support as possible to the ravaged communities of NC, TN and FL.
We know the impact a plane makes, as well as a dedicated team with incredible partners. Sadly, these super storms will continue to occur, but with your help, we'll continue to respond.

Our work in the Bahamas has been so special for us this year, and it's something we hope to continue in 2025. The relationships we've created with @bahamashumanesociety and @baarkbahamas are ones we hold very dear, and the Potcakes and Potcats of the Bahamas have captured our hearts.

From the wag of her tail and the hope that never left her anxious eyes, she had our hearts.
We made her as comfortable as we could while Maria weaved in and out of traffic to reach the vet as quickly as we could.
She nuzzled my leg as I wiped the bugs and debris from her hair, careful to gentle over her ribs, where her skin barely covered them.

How we imagine something in our mind can be pretty terrible, but at times, the reality is even worse.
Minutes into our stops, a local man told us he needed help because a dog he found was sick. What we found wasn’t simply a sick dog, it was one so starved and dehydrated we weren’t sure she was still alive…but somehow, she wagged her tail.
Every soul is worth saving, and none deserve it more than these animals. And so, the race against a cruel fate and a ticking clock began for Mavis.

This week I had the opportunity to spend some time in the Bahamas with our rescue friends who organized a much needed flight to relocate some beautiful dogs from Nassau to Nova Scotia. While I was there, Maria and Lissa, two absolute heroes from BAARK, were kind of to let me join them on their daily food and water drops for the stray Potcakes who live on the streets or among families where they aren’t well cared for and even the most basic needs aren’t met.

After a harrowing roadside 💩 situation, the @spca_international team got back on track and headed for Farmingdale. Thankfully we had no more hurdles and they have arrived!!!
