We, Albert Einstein & Nikola Tesla, have hit the jackpot — WE ARE IN OUR FUREVER HOME!! Foster mom’s sister & sister-in-law came to visit one weekend and fell in love with both of us (natch!! 😺)!!! They did all the paperwork asap altho couldn’t come back & get us right away because they live in another state, but we were ok waiting in our nice foster home in the meantime. We thought we had it good at foster mom’s but WOW😻our furever home & peeps are even cooler!! Multiple cat trees, toys galore, a screened-in porch, lots of places where we can watch what's going on outside, and the 𝒃𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒔𝒕 laps ever. 🥰Thank you SPCA of Anne Arundel County 🐾🐾, for making this happen for us!! May all cats, dogs, & smalls have the luck that we three (Marie Curie too!) have had!

We love to race around & play, but foster mom’s camera can’t keep up with us then. BUT we also love to snooze, especially while cuddling with each other…lots of photo ops for that, particularly during a rainy weekend like this one!

Lucky Marie Curie went home today & gets to live with kids and other fur siblings too! We miss Marie 😿😿 but we are SO happy that she found her furever family. Our foster mom says our people are out there too, they just haven’t figured it out yet. But we are ready; come get us!! 😻😺

FAVORITE FOSTER DOGS FINALLY FOUND THEIR FREEDOM RIDE!

Don't be mistaken, this ain't Thelma and Louise... this is Mackenzie and Pretzel going for their freedom ride!! After long stays with multiple fosters, these amazing ladies have finally found where they belong for the rest of their days!

After being passed over several times for 'younger, cuter models' these girls have found their soul sister who saw them for the ladies they truly are - adventurous, sweet, bursting with life!

They are going home to multiple siblings and an amazing lady! Big shout out to Barb Smalley, Darnell Ambrose and Amy Peele for taking such good care of these sweet girls as they patiently waited for their fur-ever home! 🐾❤️

How can it be that we are still looking for a furever home!! ! Love, Mackenzie & Pretzel (& friend 🥰)

Do you enjoy a good laugh? Love Tina Fey and Amy Poehler? Well, Pretzel and Mackenzie will make you laugh and smile all day long! While they are at different stages in life, both girls bring out the best in each other and in you.

Pretzel (round and brown like a pretzel) is the more mature of the two but nothing will stop this lady from achieving her dreams... which are made up of daily walks, food and soft blankets fresh out of the dryer! She lets you know when she needs something by dancing at your feet.

Mackenzie is the younger of the two. This Generation Alpha young lady will take cues from her elders yet loves watching a movie or, when her screen time is up for the day, loves a walk, or sniffing around the garden.

Both of these ladies are house trained, make fabulous hosts bringing a smile to all their guests, and at the end of the day all they want is to be loved and adored by their fans. Apply to meet these hilarious ladies in person today! Or, if you are concerned they might just be too fabulous for you, apply to foster!

PLEASE don't let their ages deter you. Remember, age is just a number. Elderly, schmelderly. These two are youngsters in disguise! Meet them, then find that soft spot in your heart to say, "they're just what I need."

Don't forget! Our Hearts & Hounds Mall Walk is tomorrow, Sunday, February 19, 8-11 AM at Westfield Annapolis Mall. Join the SPCA of Anne Arundel County and Dare to C.A.R.E at this fun event where pups and their well-behaved people can stroll walk INSIDE the mall. The entrance to the Mall Walk is off Bestgate Road, near Macy's and Maggiano's.

Join other dog families as they strut their stuff to support the work of the SPCA and the Heart Health Foundation. If dogs aren't your pet of choice, visit Paws at the Mall. Staff and volunteers will be there to answer questions and talk to you about animal care. Our Outreach Team will be on hand to discuss how we extend our reach beyond our shelter walls.

Dare to C.A.R.E., a FREE heart and vascular screening and education program, is offered to local communities through collaboration with the Heart Health Foundation. Their team will be on hand to provide demonstrations and how to set up an appointment. Vascular screenings save lives! In addition, there will be information from the Anne Arundel Fire Department on CPR, Health Department Resources, CareFirst Resources and wonderful supporting animal businesses.
This is a truly fun event. So many dogs, so little time. We hope to see you there!!

Look at us — aren’t we the cutest??! But we are kind of confused because we found out a few weeks ago that we need a new home!!😩We are very loving bonded ‘sisters’ — our favorite things to do are go on walks, sleep in on Saturday mornings, & get belly rubs. We are friendly with other dogs and new people (after an initial bark of course). These photos are from when we were with Foster D; we *loved* sleeping in bed with her! Happy Halloween! 🎃I fostered this ‘scary’ Halloween kitty in the first photo & 2 of his siblings last fall after they were found abandoned on the rainy streets of Cartagena, Colombia. Unfortunately it’s very common to find ‘dumped’ kittens and puppies — some in boxes, some in bags, some loose; all left to certainly die on their own unless someone decides to help. White Sox, Mr Grey, & Seda (as I named them) found their way to me with the help of a local ‘animalista’, Anderson. I had never even imagined this happening, but one of the three *died* while in my care; despite a vet check & deworming meds, White Sox succumbed from intestinal parasites (something kittens have a hard time fighting if removed too early from their mother’s milk, which helps with immunity). Ultimately, found the surviving kittens furever homes — Mr Grey & Seda are living happy lives — but too many are not as lucky; we need to keep animals from being born in to these deadly conditions. SPAYING / NEUTERING SAVES LIVES!! Can you help lower the hurdles to getting cats & dogs spayed/neutered in Colombia? A US$20 donation will spay one animal on this upcoming Cartagena Paws mission. Any amount is much appreciated!!

Hello, I’m Barb, the person behind Cutie for Adoption! The account has mainly been ‘marketing’ the SPCA of Anne Arundel County dogs & cats we’ve fostered, but also as you may have noted on occasion there are posts/stories from other countries regarding animal rescue/help. These have mostly been from Colombia, South America, where I lived for 2 years & continue to spend months at a time. ‘Where there’s a will, there’s a way’ took on a new meaning for me while volunteering in Colombia — there aren’t adequate facilities or vet care available in a lot of communities, so foundations step in to try to fill the gaps any way they can: an animal spay/neuter clinic for ex can be done in a school room & recovery can happen on a blanket outside in the shade. These photos show that you do what you can with what you have, all with the goal of making things better for the local population, both animals & people! I am currently fundraising for Cartagena Paws & their 4 day mission in November to provide veterinary services (spay/neuter, vaccinations, etc), education, clothing & food to communities in La Guajira, an arid part of northeastern Colombia where many live on US$3/day. Well it has finally happened… MY FUREVER FAMILY FOUND ME!! I was at ‘Camp Amy’ for a week after my foster mom left town & then MY FUREVER FAMILY CAME & GOT ME!! I am so happy; they are fabulous & home a lot to keep me company. Plus I have a furry siblings even — a dog (she kind of looks like me…) and a cat. And the coolest deck around so I can lay out in the sun. I’m SO happy…I just hope all dogs & cats can be so lucky!!

Monday, January 18, & is looking for her furever home—she is spayed, vaccinated & completely healthy after having suffered a broken femur when hit by a car. 😢She loves people, other cats, & dogs too!
