1-1-25: First Day Hike - 12pm - Just across the South River from Quiet Waters Park is a hidden gem called South River Farm Park. Join us as we breathe in the crisp air of the New Year on a 2 mile hike through mature forest while taking in views of the scenic South River. This ranger-led hike will allow for curious wanderers to ask questions along the way and learn something new. Sign up for this program on ActiveNet.

1-11-25: Winter Bird ID Hike - 10am - Come to Beverly Triton Nature Park to learn basic birding skills and explore the amazing variety of birds that live at the park during the wintertime. Binoculars are recommended.

1-20-25: MLK Service Day - 11am - Join us at Beverly Triton Nature Park for a day of remembrance and service. We will go on a brief hike and discuss the history of Beverly Beach Club in the 1950s-1960s, then finish with an hour of beach cleanup.

1-26-25: Landscape Paint Party - 11am - With step-by-step instructions from Ranger Sara at Mayo Beach Parks' Glass Pavilion, you can unleash your inner Bob Ross and paint a beautiful winter landscape. Limited registration; $5 fee. Payment info will be emailed after signup.

What mammals inhabit our fascinating marshes at Jug Bay? Find out, and perhaps see some in person on an evening hike through the woods and along the marsh's edge. Join Chuck Hatcher, Jug Bay’s resident expert on otters, for a 1-3 mile walk. Look and listen for signs of activity while Chuck shares interesting facts about these magnificent marsh mammals.

All ages able to walk 1-3 miles are welcome. Bring a flashlight.
Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

🌟 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘩, 𝘸𝘦'𝘳𝘦 𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘵𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘰𝘯 𝘔𝘪𝘬𝘦, 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘑𝘢𝘯𝘶𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘝𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘦𝘳 𝘌𝘹𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘪𝘳𝘦! 🏈 A decade ago, Mike saw a social media post that SCYA Football was at risk of being eliminated. With a 4-year-old son eager to play football, Mike stepped up to became the South County Football Commissioner. 💪

Since then, he’s worked tirelessly to rebuild the program, coaching and volunteering every step of the way. Mike says it’s one of the most gratifying decisions he’s ever made, and we’re so grateful for his dedication to our community! 🙌
