If you’re not providing electrolytes (especially during the summer), you may be stunting your horse’s recovery and overall wellbeing. 😳

Low electrolyte levels may:
❌ Prevent the body from cooling itself
❌ Produce muscle cramps
❌ Reduce brain function
❌ Negatively impact heart rate & cause lethargy
❌ Increase the risk of colic
& more…

Turbo Mag BCAA is a quick-absorbing, daily electrolyte that replaces key minerals and electrolytes to reduce muscle fatigue, encourage drinking, and lower stress.

Find it here: https://bluebonnetequine.com/turbo-mag-bcaa/

Our summer is here and so are the hot days🥵 Please make sure ALL your pets have plenty of fresh cool water

It’s heating up! 🔥

Help your horse beat the summer heat with these three hydration tips:

1️⃣ Provide access to white salt (loose is best) for extra sodium. The average horse should be consuming 2 tablespoons of salt per day! Remember: horses may struggle to get enough salt from blocks, as they do not have rough tongues like cattle.

2️⃣ Supplement with an electrolyte when necessary. (We really love Bluebonnet Turbo Mag BCAA 😉)

3️⃣ Ensure they have cool, fresh water at all times. Horses average 5-7 gallons of water per day, and can drink up to 4x that amount when temps spike!

Well we are out of small grass bales, until hopefully sometime in May, we still have plenty of Alfalfa and big grass bales (3x4x8). All of products have had Forage Analysis done and were graded as Premium on grass and Premium/Supreme on Alfalfa under USDA grading guild lines. We have also have "cow hay" in 2 strand bales, 21 bale bundles, it is lightly stripped, and we have had some customers say they are feeding it to horses. For more information, please call or text us at 575-642-3038. Thank you

Did you know: buying a high-quality feed (even at a higher cost per bag) can actually save you money!?

It’s true!

Let us explain…👇

Our Intensify Omega Force feed contains the latest nutrition discoveries and was purposely designed to be highly concentrated. This means that you can feed LESS, for MORE benefits than other horse feeds on the market.

Feeding less per meal = a reduced risk of colic and more money in your pocket because the bag lasts longer!

🧙🏼‍♂️Myth: Broodmares are fine on a pasture-only diet until the last trimester.

✅Fact: While a mare may not need extra calories or protein from grain, it is critical to provide her with proper calcium, phosphorus, and trace minerals (especially copper, zinc, and manganese) throughout her pregnancy.

This mineral support doesn’t have to come from grain. It may be achieved through a diet balancer supplement or free choice mineral in order to avoid providing excess levels of starch, sugar, protein or calories early in a mare’s pregnancy.

Proper nutrition for broodmares is important from the moment of conception, and especially in the last trimester. Keep in mind that a forage-only diet (hay, pasture, or hay-cubes) lacks appropriate mineral levels needed for proper development of a growing fetus.

Researchers from the University of Cambridge compiled a list of studies showing nutrition of the mother during pregnancy has a direct effect on her offspring later in life.

This concept is called Fetal Programing, which means a developing fetus can actually adapt to external factors while in the mother’s womb, and those adaptations have a life-long effect on the baby.

Low protein diets resulted in anxiety behaviors, hypertension, impaired spatial memory, insulin resistance, altered glucose metabolism, renal dysfunction, and impaired immunity.

Undernutrition in general caused vascular dysfunction, altered brain function, cardiac remodeling, obesity, hypertension, glucose intolerance, and impaired cognitive performance.
