This astoundingly beautiful creature lives in Hawai'i. After just a few minutes with him, it was easy to understand why the peacock was the favorite of Princess Kaiulani.

He had been busy chasing away roosters, that he told me he felt were encroaching the areas around the peahens, and he was protecting the peahens. We chatted a while, about how he likes his home, and yes, likes showing off his plumage for the humans that visit, but he needs to take care of the girls first. He gets anxious when people or other animals go around the peahens during certain times of the year. Then he hopped up on the rail and then onto the higher rail. I asked him why he was doing that, he simply said it was so that he would 'look bigger'.

I am grateful for having talked with him! It is always an opportunity to learn and to hear their story!

Stella was having a time, a little fussy, and agitated. Her pet human shared that Stella usually got into this mood when she was ready to lay an egg. A chat with Stella confirmed what her kahu had said. Stella also shared about her life, the beauty around her (Stella lives on the big island in Hawaii), and what laying an egg meant to her. As an animal communicator, I enjoy moments like these, when I experience these impromptu encounters and open connection with animals.

As you head into your 4th of July, remember that your pets, your animal companions, and wildlife can all be frightened, run off, and impacted in many ways by the loud noises and even worse, by carelessness that can occur during 4th of July celebrations.

Keep them safe, keep your pets secure. Please respect the animals around you - those you see and those you cannot see as you celebrate this 4th.
