Adoptions are first come, first served.
As is our policy we do not adopt puppies in pairs. These girls will do great in separate homes with the chance to have their own individual personalities and integrate with other family members - human & animal.

#AdoptMe #RescueMe As Jupiter, surrounded by her morning toy dissection, snores in a rare moment of peace, I can't help but wonder, "Where has this dog been for approximately 6 years?" ๐
Someone not only kept her alive, but she was in relatively good condition when she was brought in as a stray. The marks on her face are from here, self inflicted from pressing on the kennel walls / doors in frustration. The sadness in her eyes is because she knew a better life away from strange dogs, whines, barks and howls through the night. Her affiliation for toys and not inhaling all the remnants is from experience. Someone cared in her past. Someone gave her a name and we don't know it.
We know she's depressed, like many of the dogs who are here and clearly have been loved. We don't know if things will get better for her or if an adopter will walk through our doors tomorrow, but in the interim our staff & volunteers will do what they do best and care for dogs like Jupiter, always hoping for the best. ๐

All adoptable pets are spayed/neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. We provide the food they have been eating, toys, tips & coupons to go. Antioch residents will have to purchase a dog license.

#Help ๐๏ธ We are a small shelter, a few dogs coming in a day is a huge impact. We had 15 come in in two days whilst we were closed! ๐๏ธ
โ๏ธ8 were dumped at Markley Creek dog park after supposedly being found at LMC Pittsburg.
โ๏ธ7 are pending investigations by our Animal Control and on mandatory holds.
This puts us at OVERFULL. ๐
