A little bit about me...
I am a Northern California-native who currently lives and works near beautiful San Francisco. I've worked for a large utility company for the past 27 years (currently in the IT department) and have been married for 23 years to the best husband in the world. We share our home with four cats (Hoover, Jake, Elwood, and Max). Max is actually my "grandson" since he's really my
daughter's cat. I am a huge animal lover and devote a great deal of time and resources towards animal rescue. I learned to crochet at age 8 by watching my babysitter. I didn't have a real crochet hook, so I used our Tupperware orange peeler instead. It had a little hook on the end that worked great until I got a real crochet hook. I also do some knitting, needlepoint, counted cross-stitch, and apparel sewing, but my passion is quilting. I am a self-taught quilter (having never taken a class) and I'm a huge fan of Fons & Porter, Eleanor Burns, and Alex Anderson. Everything I know about quilting has come from watching these masters (amen for TiVo). My Etsy store came about from people telling me "Oh, you should sell those!" (referring to the afghans, baby blankets, etc. that I've made as gifts over the years). I've done craft shows in the past, but there's nothing like a world-wide audience that's available 24/7! The challenge is to keep coming up with new items. As a proud American (and wife to a proud former-US Marine), I always try to buy products made in the USA and I tag each item in my shop with “Made in America.”
