I've been working on my biggest project to date and I finally see a light at the end of the tunnel. Lifesize lion plus half lifesize javelina that will be displayed as one piece! Putting the animal together is only one piece of the puzzle - this piece required a lot of base work.

I'll be contacting a couple people this week letting you know I'll be starting your mount soon.

I've been mentoring these young men for years in the outdoors with fishing, hiking and hunting and a year later I'm still thrilled they both tagged out on their youth hunts!!!

Beautiful AZ bobcat that's going home this weekend - congrats to the hunter!

You may notice with my mounts that I offer a few different types of vegetation....desert, pine country, and transition areas that have both juniper and pines which is what this bobcat and the lion have. I ask each hunter what the area looks like where the animal lived and my goal is to replicate that.

My first lifesize lion - congratulations to the hunter on a beautiful animal!

My client hasn't seen her for awhile and was super happy to see her again :) One of the funnest parts of my job is the excitement people feel when they see their animal again. It makes me feel like Santa!

Nothing like a live reference.....I ran into a herd of javelina last night and it just so happens I'm working on my first javelina mount. This isn't the first time a live reference presented itself at a good time. I once had a bobcat walk down my street while I was doing a bobcat mount!

This is a very fluffy gray fox semi-soft mount. She is from the higher elevations of southern Arizona and her fur is thick and long! She is available. Please message me if you're interested.

This beautiful badger table mount is ready to go home! The table I used is just for these pics, my client has his own table. I'm very thankful for this client and his brother who have brought me 4 animals to mount. I also give thanks to their other brother who is also a taxidermist and referred them to me for my small animal work :)

My first lion went home today and I'm super happy with how she turned out :) This type of mount is called a pedestal mount with a base. I have a handful of lions to do this year and doing a pedestal for my first was super helpful!

The hunter glassed this fox up while it was bedded down and he asked me to recreate the pose that he first saw the fox in. Kinda cool this semi-soft mount will be piece of art in his daughter's room ❤

I am starting a new species soon and for me the mount starts with the eyes. I took the mountain lion photo and will definitely use this pic as a reference photo, but trying to find mountain lion taxidermy eyes to match this lion has been quite the challenge! I've ordered 6 pairs and am returning two pairs that are totally unacceptable because their pupils are off center and don't match. Taxidermy eyes aren't cheap, but this is what I must do in order to find eyes that I'm happy with. I am pleased with the top two and would never use the bottom two, but these are what's currently available for mountain lions.

I was getting worried. I've been waiting weeks for all of these to arrive and I am THANKFUL I actually have two different choices that I like :)

I've also done this with Bobcats and coyotes because I wont just put any eyes in one of my mounts.

Here is he - my first deer mount! Kinda hard to believe I've been a taxidermist for so long and had yet to mount a deer, but here he is and I'd be happy to hang this Coues buck on my wall.

Congratulations to the hunter and thank you for being so patient with me! It took me a little while to gain my confidence, but I did it and I learned A LOT during the process!

I took in 4 Bobcats this week including this one that was shipped to me from within Arizona. It cost the hunter $150 to ship the cat, but saved him driving 8 hours round trip. He used dry ice, foam for insulation and when I received it appx 28 hours later it was still frozen solid with zero thawing.
