We want to share that the microchip company Save this Life has closed down and all microchips serviced by them will need to be registered with a different company in order to be able to track you down if your pet gets lost. The microchips we currently use at Happy Tails are serviced by Datamars Petlink and not affected by this, however if your pet has a Save this Life chip we urge you to follow one of the QR codes below in order continue service with either Homeagain, Datamars Petlink or AKC Reunite. If you are not sure which company your pet’s microchip is linked to, you can give us a call and we can help to look up the associated company

A big thanks to all who came this past Saturday for Santa pet pictures!! As always we had an amazing time and enjoy watching all our patients and families with their cute outfits!! 🎅 These are some of the behind the scenes pictures, but the official pictures will be emailed directly to our clients as soon as they are ready! Here’s a sneak peek of this years’ Pet Santa Pictures Background!!! We’re so excited for tomorrow’s picture session with . We still have a few slots left so if you are interested in bringing your pet, then make sure to give us a call at 919-249-7053. Remember, your pet must be up to date on their annual exam and rabies vaccine to participate. We will also be collecting donations for the ASPCA such as pet food, cleaning supplies, and cat litter. Is time for our Santa Pet Pictures Event!!! We’re so excited to bring back this highly anticipated, free event for our wonderful clients and our beloved patients.

This year the Santa pictures will take place on Saturday November 16, 2024, from 9am to 1 pm with the help of our returning photographer Cassy from CMH Photography.

This is an APPOINTMENT ONLY event so give us a call to book your slot at 919-249-7053. Your pet must be current on rabies vaccine and yearly examine to participate.

As always, we will be collecting donations for the . Items needed include dog/cat food, cleaning supplies, cat litter, paper towels, Clorox, etc. Monetary donations will be added to the “Molly and Carmel Pittman Memorial Angel Fund”.

We want to officially congratulate our 2024 Halloween Pet Costume Contest!! On the dog side we have the Three Little Pigs featuring Sadie, Maddie, and Trooper, and on the cat side, it was a very close race… as of yesterday they were tied, so both Kumquat the kitty dragon and the UFO/cow family, featuring Raven, Apple, and Cider, will receive a basket of prizes!! Thanks to everyone who participated, we always enjoy seeing our patients dressed up 👻 🎃!!

We would love for you to join us at the Apex Spooky Tails event this afternoon, Wednesday October 30th at the Apex Nature Park from 5-7 pm. This fun, family friendly event is designed for your dogs in mind. There will be treats, the Apex K9 Police department, and a dog Halloween costume contest among others! We will have some goodies, microchipping, and a raffle for a free exam! We look forward to seeing you and your pup (s) there!!

Happy rainy/thunder, lazy Tuesday 🌧️ 🌩️. If your pet ever gets scared with thunders (or other loud noises like fireworks), check out this video of Dr. C using Sileo on her own dog Legacy this morning. Legacy is an almost 13 year old Wire Fox Terrier girl, who has generalized anxiety and thunder phobia. Sileo is specifically designed for noise phobias and is a great option to try if your pet experiences this type of anxiety. #ThunderPhobia #NoisePhobia #sileo #happytailsveterinaryhospital

Meet Patria, a beautiful 12 year old mixed breed girl that had a left rear leg amputation surgery with us last week due to a bone tumor. With her owners’ permission, we documented her visit with us and will bring you more updates of her recovery and biopsy results.
