Grandma Clare did great today! She had 3 age-related infected teeth removed, her ears cleaned and her nails trimmed. She is like a new 102lb puppy 😂 Right now she is agitated from being sedated, but should be back to her sweet self soon 🙂
This was the last video before the puppies met their new owners! We have 4 puppies left, with another leaving in an hour :)
So here are all of the funny, odd and weird photos I have collected since they were born - they are all so cute, even in their blooper pictures they are adorable!! 😍
Had a bit of excitement today. About 10 days ago a hawk got one of my free ranging ducks behind our backyard. When I went to find the missing duck and came upon her body, the hawk was about 10 to 12 ft away, waiting for me to leave. He did not seem afraid at all. In response to this, we built an outdoor enclosure onto the lockable duck coop where they sleep.
This hawk visited a neighbor's house a couple of days ago, and seems to have gotten comfortable in our neighborhood. Today my dogs went crazy and jumped over the fence into the outdoor duck pen. Daisy was bouncing at something like she would bounce at her tennis ball when she wanted to play.
My husband, Bobby, ran down to investigate. The hawk was on top of another duck! With all the commotion, the hawk jumped off the duck and faced Bobby. Bobby grabbed a small rake and approached the hawk - the hawk ruffled up his feathers and tried to "get big", Bobby leaned in with the rake and poked it in the chest. That did not even cause it to flee! So Bobby picked up a shovel and hit the tree trunk with it making a lot of noise, the hawk came to its senses and it flew away.
This means that the puppies are no longer safe in the backyard. This bird seems young and unafraid. When the puppies go out they scatter to all areas of the yard and are not afraid to travel alone. So, for the safety of the puppies, they will have to be in the garage for the next few days.
Because of this, we have super-sized their pen. We will close it down smaller during naptime and nighttime hours and fully open it during playtime. They seem to love it and all the new toys :)
The puppies aren't always sweet and cuddly haha - you might want to turn the volume up for this one ;)
This is week 7!!! One more week until the puppies are ready for new homes!
They are currently eating Pedigree Puppy Food and we use Equine Pine from Tractor Supply for their litter.

One of the puppies met the chickens :)
Daisy brought about half her puppies down into the woods for a walk - the others were playing up in the yard :)
These pups have new homes!
New toys for the puppies!
When Daisy leaves after feeding the puppies they go into an excited frenzy until she leaves the room. She is their rockstar right now 😂
The puppies are eating dry puppy chow and they still nurse. Daisy can’t lay with them anymore, they are too big 🙂
