Mother and Son 💕
It looks like we have an obsession, Buckshot has become enamored with the wading pool, obsessively watching for fish. He spends, literally, hours staring at the pool. We have a stream behind our house, outside of our gate, he has always loved tracking minnows. But now he is all about the wading pool. Trying to decide if there needs to be an intervention, this was last weekend and he spent at least 2 1/2 hours staring…. Anyone have a similar experience? He heads to the pool daily as we let him out, I need to figure out if this is bad for him! 🙂
So the ducks have been moved from the duck enclosure into the larger chicken pen. Now they have two indoor space and a large outdoor space. As part of their move, we upgraded their baby pool to a 300 gallon stock tank! They absolutely love it and it will be easier for us to drain and refill. We build them a set of make-shift steps (temporarily) as we plan out a "hill" so they will be able to walk directly into their pond.
They were so excited to get in and play, but they have not ever had anything this deep. You can see in the video as they struggle to figure out how to get to the bottom of the pond to retrieve some corn we threw in there. It was funny watching them bob around and kick their feet in the air - they are so bouyant! Eventually they figured out that if they went in at an angle they were able to get under the water and their kicking became much more effective!
Was a great day for Gma Clare and her pup Buckshot to soak up some sunshine 🥰
The pack is back!! Spring heat is over!! With the timing of it, I think in the fall (next heat) we may have puppies that will be ready to go on/around Christmas!! We will see! For now, just lazy sunny days soaking up the sun ☀️
Oh my sweet little Easter Egg is in heat :) Keeping her and Buckshot apart (and they are not happy about it!!). Nine days of pre-heat, nine days of mateable heat and then a few extra days of making sure there are no mistakes 😆 It is a long 3 weeks!
Based on this timeline, she will come into heat again in late August or early September, meaning she will have puppies in late October or early November, ready for homes in late December or early January - stay tuned :)
This is why we bought the big bed haha - notice the two empty dog beds behind them! 🥰
We were washing the covers on the dog beds and Claire needed her beauty rest, so she just used a Frenchie as her pillow 😂
I have not met this person or used this service, but I saw this advertised and thought I would pass along…

Grandma Clare did great today! She had 3 age-related infected teeth removed, her ears cleaned and her nails trimmed. She is like a new 102lb puppy 😂 Right now she is agitated from being sedated, but should be back to her sweet self soon 🙂
Daisy is going to miss her pet Frenchie soooo much! 😂
Daisy and Zeus, going to miss the Frenchies, they are headed home next week, but I think Daisy will miss them most of all! :(
Buckshot 🥰
Our beauty, grandma Claire! She had litters with Sammy and R***r! Poor Claire has not been feeling well! We have her on antibiotics until next week, then a vet visit for some teeth cleaning, ear cleaning and nail clipping. Her teeth are a concern, so we have to wait to see what is up…
Such a Christmas cutie!
Hi everyone, hope your December is merry and bright!! To the most recent puppy owners, I just wanted to send a quick reminder that if you haven't already,
you may want to go to the AKC website (don't use Microsoft Edge, parts of the website do not work with it) and finish up your dog's registrations. This has been prepaid so there is no cost to you. Once you finish the information they will send you their certificate. If you want to enter any of the AKC events (they have a lot of different ones) your puppy will be eligible!
The AKC is the recognized and trusted expert in breed, health and training information for dogs.
Just wanted to say thank you to all of our new puppy owners! We will miss them and I believe Daisy will miss playing with them! If you would like to post pictures I am sure all the puppy owners would love to see how the litter is doing. If you need anything or just want to commisserate there are 9 families adjusting to the cuteness :)
We are going to enjoy Skeeter and Kali until tomorrow, and then Kali until Friday :) Have a great week everyone!
These are the last three puppies who are excited to meet their new families!
This was the last video before the puppies met their new owners! We have 4 puppies left, with another leaving in an hour :)
So here are all of the funny, odd and weird photos I have collected since they were born - they are all so cute, even in their blooper pictures they are adorable!! 😍
Had a bit of excitement today. About 10 days ago a hawk got one of my free ranging ducks behind our backyard. When I went to find the missing duck and came upon her body, the hawk was about 10 to 12 ft away, waiting for me to leave. He did not seem afraid at all. In response to this, we built an outdoor enclosure onto the lockable duck coop where they sleep.
This hawk visited a neighbor's house a couple of days ago, and seems to have gotten comfortable in our neighborhood. Today my dogs went crazy and jumped over the fence into the outdoor duck pen. Daisy was bouncing at something like she would bounce at her tennis ball when she wanted to play.
My husband, Bobby, ran down to investigate. The hawk was on top of another duck! With all the commotion, the hawk jumped off the duck and faced Bobby. Bobby grabbed a small rake and approached the hawk - the hawk ruffled up his feathers and tried to "get big", Bobby leaned in with the rake and poked it in the chest. That did not even cause it to flee! So Bobby picked up a shovel and hit the tree trunk with it making a lot of noise, the hawk came to its senses and it flew away.
This means that the puppies are no longer safe in the backyard. This bird seems young and unafraid. When the puppies go out they scatter to all areas of the yard and are not afraid to travel alone. So, for the safety of the puppies, they will have to be in the garage for the next few days.
Because of this, we have super-sized their pen. We will close it down smaller during naptime and nighttime hours and fully open it during playtime. They seem to love it and all the new toys :)
The puppies aren't always sweet and cuddly haha - you might want to turn the volume up for this one ;)
This is week 7!!! One more week until the puppies are ready for new homes!
They are currently eating Pedigree Puppy Food and we use Equine Pine from Tractor Supply for their litter.

When it is rainy or cold outside the puppies spend more time indoors. Today they got rewards for being so good :) Dentastix :)

When Daisy leaves after feeding the puppies they go into an excited frenzy until she leaves the room. She is their rockstar right now 😂
