Michael and Melissa O’Donnell opened Sit Means Sit Apex (formerly, Sit Means Sit Southern Raleigh) in the spring of 2016 after their own dog, Taylor, went through training at Sit Means Sit Raleigh 3 years prior.
Both Michael and Melissa are passionate about dogs and helping them to be their best. We all know what can happen when dog owners get in over their heads with an anxious, rambunctious and/or aggressive dog, the owners often give up, and a dog that simply needs some structure and guidance winds up with a new family, or worse, in a shelter. That’s why we do what we do! Michael, along with his team of 7 AMAZING trainers, love each and every dog that walks through our doors and wants nothing more than to help dogs and their owners build and maintain relationships that will last a lifetime.
In the 3 years we have been opened, we have trained over 1,000 dogs, have built a reputation on 5 star reviews, won numerous local awards including the WRAL Voters Choice Award for Best Pet Training Service in 2017, 2018 & 2019, as well as the Cary Magazine’s 2019 Mover’s & Shakers award and you may have also seen our dog Ripken at a Holly Springs Salamanders baseball game as their official Bat Dog! Among all of these things, what we are most proud of are the relationships that we have built within the dog community here in Wake County. We have built very strong relationships with many dog related organizations over the past few years, including relationships with dozens of local Veterinarians (many of whom are clients!) and we truly appreciate their kind words when referring us to their patients.
If you want to build a stronger relationship with your dog, please give us a call and schedule a free consultation for one of our trainers to come out and meet you. We know that you only want the best for your dog and as the Triangle’s Premier Dog Trainer, that is what we promise to give you!
