Have no fear, chicken feet are here!!!

As most of you know, we process our own chicken feet. We work with local farmers who give us their home butchered chicken feet and then we go to work to get them processed!!

ā€œBut I thought dogs werenā€™t supposed to have bones?ā€

They can if done SAFELY! Itā€™s not recommended to give your dogs any bones from your kitchen due to the risk of them splintering, especially when theyā€™ve been baked. We dehydrate our chicken feet to reduce the risk of splintering bones. The slow drying process allows the bone matter to fuse together better rather than the quick bake process of an oven.

ā€¢ The bones and nails are GREAT for helping scrape off built up plaque on the teeth
ā€¢ The wholesome source of chicken taps into the dogā€™s inner carnivore crave
ā€¢ Chicken feet have an excellent source of natural glucosamine which helps joint health!

An email was just sent out to all of our current clients- below is a copy of the information that was included in the email.

The following is a note from Madison about a big change that is currently taking place to MDTW.

First and foremost, as always, I want to thank you for supporting the small business that I get the pleasure of calling my baby. We groomers say it all the time, but we really are beyond blessed and overwhelmed by the endless support that we continue to receive. Day in and day out we talk to new clients and get told that they were referred by someone who owns a fur-baby that we currently get to pamper. As I sit back and reflect on how far this little place has grown since I first opened the doors, Iā€™m speechless. Never in a million years did I think we would be making this big of an impact in the animals of our community. God truly had a plan for me that was bigger than I would have given myself credit for. However, this also brings us into a big change that makes me have to put my entire trust in Him again. Over the weekend, I made the hard decision to remove myself from the grooming schedule.

Since about August I have been dealing with a tight hip pain that has not improved. It has gotten to the point where I canā€™t bend over in the morning to tie my shoes. I have been in physical therapy twice a week since October, and have been attending an uncountable amount of doctor appointments trying to pinpoint the cause and find some relief. After undergoing a long process focusing on the area of my pain with no answers, my doctor and I decided to redirect our focus to my back to see if it could be stemming from there. This past week I had x-rays done and found out I actually have 6 vertebras that are not connected to my ribs along with a misalignment to my lower back. This raised some red flags and is now a warrant to undergo the entire process again. Due to the increase in medical appointments and not having much say in the scheduling of them, it lead me to the decision of removing myself from the schedule. This is most definitely not a goodbye, just (hopefully) a pause from the daily grooming. As for appointments that have been pre-booked with me, I plan on fulfilling those. If one of these appointments overlaps with one of my doctor visits, I will either move you to an open slot with one of the other groomers for the same time, or contact you about rescheduling. On the bright side, you will still be seeing me in the shop! Until further notice, I am going to use this time to enhance the lobbyā€™s retail space along with making some much needed updates to our online platforms. Hopefully with my more present role in the front end, calls and messages will also have a better response time.

I have full confidence in Leah and Kiley to keep producing the quality of work that everyone knows and loves. For those who have been solely on my schedule, please be patient and transparent with the other girls as they try to find the groom and haircut that you enjoy! I will do my best to assist them with any questions they have and leave the best notes that I can. As always, the best thing to do is bring in a photo of your dream groom so they have something to look back on. Please donā€™t hesitate to let them know if there is something you would like done differently. Just be because we think something would look good, doesnā€™t mean it meets your standards! Thatā€™s the joy of everyone having their own style! I also ask that you be patient with them as they not only have to do their best on the groom, but they also have to bond with your pet as well. By taking time to create a bond with them, it makes the grooming process so much easier and much more enjoyable on both the groomer, and the pet! It should also make you as the owner feel better knowing your pet is in good hands while they are here and that they enjoy coming!

Lastly, due to us now being down a groomer. I HIGHLY and I mean HIGHLY suggest booking out your next appointment before you leave- especially if you have a difficult schedule yourself! If you choose to not book ahead, please expect a 1-2 week wait. If that time frame changes, we will do our best to let you know. At this time, Leah and Kiley are planning on keeping their normal work schedules. I will attach both of their schedules along with our booking link for easier convenience. There is also a pet parent app that you can download that makes it even easier to track and book your appointments.

Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for all that you have done as a client and supporter of MDTW. This is going to be a weird transition for all of us, but I know we will make it through! Nothing can beat down the best groomers in the Cedar ValleyšŸ˜‰šŸ©µšŸ¾

Let the good times ROLL!!

Cod wrapped collagen chews are back!! Except this time have both 8ā€ and 4ā€ rolls!

These are a long lasting and healthy chew option.

Remember, there is a difference between a chew and a toy. Long lasting chews are more of a treat whereas long lasting toys are more of a bone.

For referenceā€¦ it took a lab 40 minutes to finish one of the 8ā€ rolls. Open TODAY (1/25/25) until about 3:30

Hey Yall! Madison here!:)

This is a bit out of our normal posting, but Iā€™m getting desperate for ideas. I may own a pet related business but in no way do I know everything about pets, ESPECIALLY CATS! So Iā€™m using my platform to connect and seek help.

My personal cat, Rory, is absolutely testing our parenting patience. He was found as a young kitten so I donā€™t know his exact age, but weā€™re guessing heā€™s 5 years old. His healthy weight is 13lbs so heā€™s a big boy, but definitely in no way overweight or malnourished. I noticed he was getting kind of lonely and depressed with my long work days, so I got another kitten over a year ago and itā€™s been game changing! They truly love each other. Howeverā€¦ Roryā€™s new thing lately has been waking us up at 3am by running from one bedside table, OVER OUR HEADS, to the other table while screaming nonstop until he gets attention. When we finally get sick of it, we kick him out and shut our bedroom door where he then proceeds to jump and scratch at the door. I did the whole ā€œcry it out methodā€ like you do when sleep training babies and the man doesnā€™t stop. He genuinely did it for over a hour the other day until I got up and gave him some food. The food shut him up at first, but weā€™re getting to the point where the silence only lasts until the food is gone. Iā€™ve tried feeding him a late night snack, Iā€™ve tried food puzzles, Iā€™ve tried automated toys with timers so they go off every couple of hours throughout the night, Iā€™ve tried canned food as a late night snack thinking that would satisfy him more, Iā€™ve tried true shredded chicken before bed, Iā€™ve tried almost everything I can think of.

Iā€™ve thought about getting an automated feeder, but the other cat is so dang smart and food motivated that I already know she would figure out the timing of it and be there waiting for the food to drop. Plus, Rory isnā€™t the type to push her out of the way because heā€™s a āœØgentlemanāœØ.

Iā€™m so lost as to how to get this man to let me sleep. I applaud him for his determination and resilience, but anyone who knows me, KNOWS I need my sleep. The first thing my college best friend told my now fiancĆ© when we started dating was ā€œwhatever you do, donā€™t poke the bear when sheā€™s asleepā€ AND THIS CAT IS POKING THE BEAR!!

Just a quick little follow up from the post a couple days ago about our new water nozzle for double coated dogs..

Lily came in today FULL of undercoat and I think itā€™s safe to say the nozzle did its job!! That handful of hair was SOLID! All of the water was rung out of it prior to the picture to truly see how much hair came out.

This is definitely one of those investments thatā€™s going to pay off! I donā€™t think Lilyā€™s owners will need to be following her around with a broom anymore šŸ¤Ŗ

Wanna hear something crazy?!?

Meet Bader.

Bader was just in about a month ago for a deshed, but his momma recently had him at the kennel while she was away so she asked if we could get him in for a normal bath to freshen him up.

Since Bader is a routine client, we know his hair and skin type pretty well. Bader has one of the most LUXURIOUS coats we have seen on a golden retriever. Perfect coloring, perfect shape, perfect texture, we could go on and on! He truly is a gorgeous boy!!

Hereā€™s where things start to get crazyā€¦ We just got a new nozzle in our shop thatā€™s specifically made for dogs with undercoats. Since Bader typically has a very fully coat, we knew he would be the PERFECT candidate to test our new nozzle on since we got the bulk of his undercoat out last time he was in. Or so we thoughtā€¦

The photo is how much hair we got out with just our everyday shampoo and conditioner! Imagine what it would look like if we used our deshed products AND if he was going through a coat changešŸ¤ÆšŸ¤Æ

Our chew selection has gotten so bare!

Weā€™ve been waiting almost a month for yak chews to get delivered and the cod wrapped collagen chews have been unavailable to order since early DecemberšŸ˜«

Thereā€™s truly a down side to finding AMAZING products!

In the meantime.. maybe this is the perfect opportunity to try out some new things. What kind of chews would you like to see fill these open spots??

Weā€™ve said it before, and weā€™ll say it until the end of time..

We have the BEST clients!!

Some of you may have met Spartan during passing. Heā€™s a standard poodle with an awesome Mohawk. He was recently diagnosed with a skin disease called Sebaceous Adentitis (SA). Basically, his oil glands become inflamed causing his skin to become so dry he looses his hair. Itā€™s not contagious, but it is heartbreaking when heā€™s in a flare up. Due to this recent diagnosis, Spartan has been coming in frequently for medicated baths and soaks.

During his last visit, his momma did this AWESOME artwork on our windows. We are in love with it! Something so simple brings so much character and joy to our shop. Thank you Cindy for blessing us with both your artwork and your sweet boy, Spartan!

We definitely arenā€™t raising tablet kids here, but does this count as raising a tablet shop cat?šŸ¤”

We will say it a million times.. ALL PETS NEED MENTAL STIMULATION!!

Inky has TONS of toys all over the shop, but even something as simple as a YouTube bird video keeps her brain active with something out of her normal routine.

WHAT. A. RUSH.

This holiday season we are grateful for our family, our friends, and our clients! Just like any job, weā€™ve had our highs and lows, but at the end of the day we still love what we do. We couldnā€™t imagine life without you guys! You continue to bless us by letting us love your babies.

We have just over 30 hours until we ring in 2025. This past year has been nothing short of inspiring. We have grown TREMENDOUSLY and itā€™s all thanks to our amazing and loyal support system that we call our clients. Almost daily we receive inquiries on checking out what the MDTW fun is all about.

~ We have a few random openings left for the week, so be sure to take advantage of those! Even if itā€™s just for a bath or nails to freshen everyone up after this muddy Christmas weā€™ve had! Book online or message us!

~ We also have TWO SATURDAYS this month- the 11th and the 25th! Again, Saturdays do not show up on the booking site due to not being consistent days so those spots will need to be filled by contacting the shop or a personally talking with one of the groomers.

~ Madison will be gone most of next week so slots are also limited. Please plan accordingly.
