Yesterday (before we posted about Rebel) we used our last dollars to help Luna. Our friends at Hurleys Haven Vet Care have been helping her with skin and hip issues and we couldn't say no to helping with meds and bloodwork.

Three years ago, we helped Luna with vet care when she had one of the worst upper respiratory infections we've ever seen. You can see in the sick photo, her chest was shaved because she spit out all her medicine and her fur got matted. And look at her now 😍.

Today we helped in an emergency situation for a dog with pyometra. This is an infection of the uterus and is fatal if left untreated. The cost of spaying your dog is in the low hundreds. The cost of emergency surgery for a dog with pyometra is in the $3000-$4000 range.
