Do you ever find yourself working day after day on an exercise, making progress, until one week it just feels like everything is falling apart? As trainers we will find ourselves in that situation, as we are drilling these exercises to make the progress we need to in a limited time. But it’s ok to remember two things: #1 It will get ugly before it gets pretty. #2 Don’t forget to change things up and have some fun! Sometimes making that change will in turn fill in those holes we are struggling to fix! 🤠
Horse training is such a *process*, isn’t it? It gets ugly before it gets pretty. It can feel like such a struggle until suddenly all those pieces fall into place and it finally clicks! Consistency is key. But you don’t know what you don’t know. That’s where we come in, whether it’s training or instruction, we help fill in those pieces so that it can finally click for you too! 🤠
*Struggled to make sure this video shared on all socials, just wanted to make sure Rooster got the attention he deserves!* 🐎 The opportunity to play with the versatility of a horse! 🤠 Dusted off the English saddle and attire for this lanky boy, his conformation is just begging to be ridden in a hunt seat! **This horse came to me with terrible control of his hind end. He was all over the place, wouldn’t hold a lead, tripping and weak, to the point we weren’t totally sure he wasn’t physically impaired or possibly gaited 😆. I was concerned when first starting to ride him that he’d just straight fall down on me, which let me tell you falling off of 16+ hands is not fun! We ran some blood work to eliminate possible health concerns. But it came down to strength building and consistent training, and look at him now! He carries himself in the bridle, picks up both leads, and not gaited! 😂 He’s still a lanky boy, but he’s come so far in just 2 months and to a point his owner can take some lessons with me and confidently continue on with him at home. This is why we do what we do!
