Today’s Orion update: We are so thankful to the team at Outlaw Equine hospital for working with Orion to get him feeling better and to also get him leading a little bit on a halter! I am so amazed to see him outside eating grass on a lead, they have done so much for him and Just like our earlier update, he is improving with the pneumonia and they will continue to monitor all his vitals and organs to make sure everything is functioning properly. Please consider making a tax deductible donation towards his care at TripleJHorseHaven .com or at his Donorbox at https://donorbox.org/orion-s-veterinary-care-2. We also have a giveaway that will happen once we raise the funds necessary to get Orion through his hospital stay. For every $25 you donate you will be entered to win a beautiful bracelet stack valued at $135.. We thank you so much for your support and Orion thanks you for giving him a chance!
$252 left to raise of $900 for Orion’s next 2 days (today and tomorrow) of hospitalization and nebulizer treatment. Thank you all!

Updates on lucky 12 fundraising: We’re still fundraising for the 12 last saves from the Bowie January auction. $19 donation by 513 people would get their funds raised! Even if you could donate 2 of your weekly coffees to saving horses with us, it would be SUCH a help in getting these horses’ funds raised. They are being saved from going to slaughter. This is Kevin… #8 out of the 12 extras from the January Bowie auction weekend rescue mission… He is one of the Pennsylvania direct ship horses in Bowie, Texas last weekend. We met him during the same weekend, where he was in the direct ship pen, which is where they keep the horses that are already tagged with a sticker and microchips in their neck to track them on their truck ride to slaughter in Mexico.
Kevin hid behind all the other horses all weekend and was there but always watching and never getting close, so honestly he didn’t ever stand out to me. When we did our final walkthroughs/last minute saves/goodbyes, Kevin came right up to me and nuzzled me… I was shocked. He then took an apple from me, which was surprising too because horses from such communities usually don’t know what to do with apples, carrots, or treats. He definitely didn’t know what to do with it, but after a while he figured out how to eat it, and then I realized… he is ONLY THREE YEARS OLD (maybe 4)! How messed up is that!? Sending a baby to slaughter for whatever reason he couldn’t work as hard…
SO, needless to say a halter accidentally fell right onto his head 🫣 oops!… and I walked him right out of that pen. He asked me not to leave him. He knew. They know. My heart breaks still and always will for the ones we couldn’t get out, but one day we will get them all out OR we will pass the SAFE Act (go to SAFEAct.org and sign please) and then we won’t need to save them from sl@ughter anymore.
To help Kevin, please go to https://donorbox.org/save-the-lucky-12 or TripleJHorseHaven.com with all the links to donate.
Thank you.
