Second chances are for the horses… and donkeys… and mules that come here. They even get treats, grain and love from our resident ranch hand 🫶🏻

Lucky Dog is one of our equines that we are giving love and sanctuary to, he was bailed by an amazing human right before he was directly shipped to Mexico for sl@ughter. He was one that ended up at the kill pen for being too arthritic to work anymore, no more pulling wagons for him- he has all the marks from it. This guy is working on accepting love… but like them all, he is so deserving of it.

We only have $1,052 left to raise for the bail of last month’s Bowie auction saves… so, we at Triple J, need to raise this before auction weekend. We haven’t missed an auction since fall of 2023, so if we can even save just 1, that’s one more who gets a second chance. BUT, we have to recoup this from this month’s auction. Thank you to everyone who helps give these horses the second chance they wouldn’t have had otherwise…

Alright. I’m gonna do it. I wasn’t going to, but I’ve been sick to my stomach about another “rescue “ using my content and a fabricated, inaccurate lie of a story to get monetized likes because of our sad circumstances with the birth of our girl Miracle… she ignored my request to give us credit for the pic which is ours, and she went through and hid and deleted all of our comments, including those that our supporters added. This seems shady, does it not? Yet she’s getting likes, monetization, and tons of people asking to help… but WE ARE THE ONES WHO FOUGHT FOR HER! she is ours, TJHH VILLAGE! We still are short $14,000 for her care, and yet another rescue is blocking us, pretending we don’t exist and profiting off of it. I’m sad some of our supporters even saw this post and supported it…

And then today I saw that this bogus rescue emulating SMRR has ALSO stolen our Orion post along with the words… and they’ve also blocked us. They’ve got way more likes and shares than we do, (😆🤦🏼‍♀️) and are therefore getting seen and getting support for OUR EFFORTS! I’m sick. I’m sick of working this hard and using every cent to my name to help these horses and then THESE ppl who are so dishonest to go to lengths to hide everything and block us, get the support we so desperately need.

PLEASE REPORT THEM! I have but us alone is not enough… not a lot is fair in life, but this I cannot be silent about this… I’m hurt. I’m angry. These horses deserve ALL the support, instead of those too dishonest to give us credit for what we have made possible.

These are a few of the 8 horses we saved at the Bowie March auction. They’ve been decompressing land eating and being treated for the auction crud they almost always get… we still have $1,999 left to raise JUST for their bail… these guys would have been in Mexico otherwise, 2 of these coming from the direct ship where they were already doomed to ship. I fronted this amount to bail them since other fundraisers took precedence, and it was really hard to raise any funds. However, I now realize that I can’t hope for funds to come in to care for them. After the fact, so now we will be changing the ways of how we rescue. But for now, we really need your help in at least paying back this bail money for these amazing horses. It not only helps them, but it helps every equine at the rescue because I am the one that primarily pays for their feed if you can help please head to triplejhorsehaven.com where there are many ways to donate. Marigold… the one who started it all… me, Jill, finding out about kill pens and horses going to sl@ughter in MX saved her life… and then it saved over a hundred other horses from the same fate. Marigold has a heart of gold and is an amazing girl, at about 20 years old, she was skinny and beat up when she made her way to us. When she arrived, we realized she coughed, a lot, which is probably why she was thrown away at auction. Through a lot of unsuccessful attempts at curing her cough, we learned that She suffers from allergies that we have been managing for over a year now, tried so many things before this- she now gets an injection about every 10 days, which is a specially formulated serum that works with her immune system to combat her allergic reactions.

Marigold is now who I consider one of my personal horses, she is going to stay with us forever.

Oh- and she got another pedicure today, peep the fresh toesies.

Orion update… I couldn’t put into words how injured he was… in January when we saw him first. though he was swollen up like a balloon, it was hard to show just how beat up he was… this is now how his wounds look now- bite marks and hoof prints from kicks and strikes of other stallions… it now shows just how deeply the injuries went and why he had such a hard time getting better. There was a lot going on internally, this is how his wounds on the outside look now- he’s been healing since the beginning of January, when we got him out of Bowie after the auction.

Thank you to everyone for believing in him. He’s truly been a fighter, and has fought for his life since being sent to auction in Jan.

Rescuing these guys and providing for them is so important, feeding them and caring for them is just as important as pulling them out of hell in the first place. Donations have been hard to come by lately. We have a small core group of regular donors who make the world go round for these babies. In other news, after an extended stay at Outlaw Equine Jewel was not improving once she got home… she continued to suffer from diarrhea, Weightloss, uveitis, and seemed to have neurological issues. Thanks to the quick thinking of our amazing QT owner, she was taken to get tests done, and it seems as though what she is dealing with is leptospirosis… this is a serious disease caused by bacteria in infected water and soil. No doubt they picked this up before getting out of horse hell… however, she needs IV antibiotics daily now and Texas A&M worked with Lazy 3 to come up with a game plan. Our amazing QT owner is giving her IV antibiotics as needed and I cannot be more grateful to her that she will do this, so Jewel doesn’t have to go back to the hospital. Jewel is a fighter! It also explains why her kidneys were damaged and why she possibly aborted the goal a tad early… please keep her in your thoughts. I am so grateful to wonderful humans like AK who takes the best care of our QT babies. ❤️‍🩹

It goes by so fast, even with baby horses… we all need her to pull through. This is Miracle today…. Miracle is 10 days old today! She is still at Outlaw Equine hospital finding for her life. Our little baby giraffe seems to be feeling better today, look at those long legs! Today for five dollar Friday we are hoping to raise the rest of her hospital stay for Saturday. Each day is costing about $400. Thank you so much from every piece of my heart to everyone who has helped in any way at all to get Miracle and the mamas the life-saving care that they need.
