Behavior Observation 3/06/24 Freya was initially a bit nervous when interacting with the handler. After a few minutes of sitting on her kennel floor with treats, she began to approach and take treats from the handler. Once she was out of her kennel her personality really showed. Freya began to walk with little jumps in-between steps, going between the handler and things she was interested in smelling. When the handler got on her level, Freya began climbing on them and giving tons of kisses. Additionally, she ignored the other dogs when walking past them. Behavior Observation 3/05/24 Honey Bear is a big cuddle bug. All she wanted to do was be up against the handler, have her head held, and get belly rubs. Honey Bear approached the handle gently with no jumping, pushing, or nudging. When out on the leash she was more cautious and tense, a little affirmation with pets seemed to help her relax. Behavior Observation 3/02/24 Frankie is a well-mannered and sweet guy. While out on his walk Frankie stayed next to the handler waiting for directions on where to go. Frankie didn't care about other dogs while passing them he just kept trotting along. Additionally, Frankie did know the command sit and would do it for treats, he also did a dance for treats. Behavior Observation 2/24/24 Yaro is a high energy boy. He was originally kenneled with another husky as they were found together, but they did not get along and had to be separated. Yaro was very reactive when any dog passed his kennel, he was very vocal and lunged at them. When he walked past others, his tail was high, hackles up, and he kept direct eye contact. Further Yaro loved the attention he was given, he had no issues with touch from head to tail. This behavior observation was performed by staff in the shelter setting.
