As many of you know, we help save and care for dogs whenever and wherever we can. When we take a dog in, our commitment is lifelong. We have many dogs to feed. And our need for food is ongoing.

CALLING ALL FOSTER/FOREVER FAMILIES!
If you've been thinking about fostering/adopting, now is such a great time to help us help them.
The need for rescue is even more urgent than ever. We have taken in as many dogs as we can, and have saved them from pain, fear, hunger, and suffering.
We need to place them in loving foster/forever homes, so we can open space for the dogs who are now in danger and desperately need our help.

HERMAN SAYS, "ARE YOU MY LOVING FOSTER/FOREVER FAMILY?"
Herman is a three-year-old German shepherd; 70 lbs. He is sweet and can be shy at first. Not aggressive - he warms up with attention. Good on a leash. He is high energy and playful. Seems dog friendly in a playful way. He takes treats gently.
Herman is with us now after his owner's passing; his owner was dying and wanted to make sure Herman had a place to go. We were glad to take in this big, sweet boy so that his loving owner could pass in peace, knowing that Herman would always be cared for.

SARGE SAYS, "ARE YOU MY LOVING FOSTER/FOREVER FAMILY?"
Sarge is such a heartbreaking, meaningful example of the rescue work that Beagles and Buddies does.
Poor, precious Sarge was left behind when his family moved. He waited for his family, thinking they were as loyal as he is. His family never returned, and the neighbor ended up taking him in and bringing Sarge to us.
Sweet Sarge is 4-5 years old and 51 lbs. He's a German shepherd mix, friendly, active, and energetic. He loves going out for his exercise and play time in our big yards. He'll run and play, or just be with or near you; your choice. Sarge is very intelligent and wants to please.
He gets along well with some dogs, likes to walk, and wants to be with people. He really loves to be close to his people, and he fit in nicely with the two other dogs belonging to the neighbor who rescued him.

TOM (FORMERLY KNOWN AS CANELO) GOT HIS LOVING FOREVER HOME!
And we got a lovely email from Tom's new family:
"Quick two-week update to let you know we absolutely love that little guy. There's just something about him that settles right into your heart. He has a new home and a new name ...'Tom'. :)
Very slow process, but he's acclimating a little bit every day, becoming more comfortable and occasionally showing signs of his true personality. He's still shy and nervous to start the day but by afternoon/evening, he's mostly calm and loving. Starting to ask for attention, licking our hands and even caught him wagging his tail a time or two. He's very loved and might be starting to figure out that he hit the jackpot. Last night was the first night in his crate sleeping with his sister, which went well. Still chooses to spend most of his time in his crate or in the corner of the couch but after just two weeks, that is to be expected. Eating and drinking more and more and doing a good job peeing/pooping in the backyard.
We're a long way away from building confidence to a point where walks are a regular thing and the world in general is no longer terrifying. We'll get there, in time and with patience."
We are so grateful to Tom's new family for knowing that rescued dogs can be timid in their new homes. We greatly appreciate that they are giving Tom the time and patience and understanding he needs to learn that he is now safe and loved in his forever home.

CASPER SAYS, "HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!"
Casper is such a sweet, happy little fellow! He is a chihuahua mix, 1-2 years old and 10 lbs. Good with dogs, cats, and kids. May need work on house and leashtraining. He was seen being dumped by teens at a school. Casper has been well behaved and likes sitting in our laps. Loves being around the other dogs his size. He went to the San Diego adoption event last year and he did great with the kids and adults, also he did great with other dogs and walking on the leash.

ADORABLE OLIVER SAYS, "ARE YOU MY LOVING FOSTER/FOREVER HOME?"
Look at this precious boy! He could be your St. Patrick's Day leprechaun!
Oliver is 5-6 years young and 25 lbs. Very friendly and well trained. White teeth, leash and house trained. Loves to play fetch! Gets on well with all other dogs and people. He immediately felt right at home - all other front yard and house dogs accepted him. Oliver is also fine as your solo pal.
