Ever wondered, what DO you feed a critter this tiny? 🔬🦎

We’ve trial and errored a few different things. Nysuuki is just over an inch long. A good rule of thumb is to never offer anything that is bigger than the space between your reptile’s eyes.

Being a wild hitchhiker, Nysuuki is used to catching moving targets. Our attempts to feed Repashy Grub Pie were completely ignored. It just doesn’t register as food to her.

Moving on we bought “pinhead” size crickets. Thanks to Wild Habitats for offering such a great array of feeder sizes!

When Wild Habitats was closed, her foster went to a big box store and even their smallest crickets were too big for Nysuuki.

Another option is flightless fruit flies. These are a great option for reptiles even tinier than Nysuuki. However, due to her potential for growth, we decided the additional calories and nutrition from gut-loaded crickets made them the better option.
