The Appleton Veterinary Clinic is a 2 doctor, mixed-practice clinic that is seeking a full time veterinary technician/assistant to join our team! Our schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00-5:00 with a Saturday & on call rotation. Duties are mostly associated with companion animal practice but assistance would be highly needed if willing and able to include large animal services as well. There would be a strong preference for candidates with large animal experience or interest. Part time positions are considered.

The main responsibilities of the job include;

Aiding veterinarians with animal restraint during exams & procedures

Surgery prep, anesthesia & assisting surgical procedures along with following proper clean up (sterilizes instruments, equipment, and materials)

Assist in performing diagnostic & laboratory work that include radiographs, bloodwork, cytologies ect

Preparing vaccines, serums and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians

Filling prescriptions

Measuring medications & labeling containers

Performing animal care protocols & cleaning

Receptionist services that include interacting & educating clients

Aiding in large animal chute work and administering vaccines & treatments per veterinarian

Aiding veterinarians in large animal procedures that include beef, dairy, small ruminants

Many other duties as assigned

Experience is highly preferred but not necessary.
Applicants should be self motivated and have a strong work ethic. Good communication skills between co-workers & clients is a must. Its that time of year for gnat bites!
During spring and summer, we get a lot of inquiries about dogs with red, target lesions, similar to those pictured below.
The good news is that usually, these bites don't usually bother pets all that much. They look alarming for pet owners, but they'll usually resolve on their own without a trip to the veterinarian! However, some pets react more than others. If you are concerned, do not hesitate to send us a picture via e-mail or give us a call!
