From garbage can diving for food and scraps to resting on heated floors, this sweet baby came to us all the way from Brentwood after a sweet woman by the name of Juliet asked for help. Once he was trapped we vetted and assessed him. At first he wanted no part of human interaction. After a few mi the of dedications and trust this little Romeo is thankful every day. We have managed to introduce him to a life of simply relaxing and love. Being a cat living on the steeets is hard. Being a senior cat with FIV with no shelter is harder. We call him Mr Tangerine Man but, he is a regular Romeo and he will sweep you off your feet the moment you meet him. Open your door to a senior cat this holiday and give your home a new pulse on love. Please look at Romeo and remember what our rescue does EVERDAY. We get calls daily and sometimes every other hour there are pleas of desperation for animals all over the North Fork of Long Island and across the counties. Know we hear your calls. Do you hear ours? We are asking that you take a moment to support us and give us an opportunity to assist other cats like Romeo giving them a new chance on life and resting knowing someone cared to make a difference. Do it for Mr Tangerine, AKA Romeo. Mr Tangerine, AKA Romeo is about 8-10 years of age. Loves other cats!

We are praying for a Christmas miracle for Mr. Tangerine.

This long-haired beauty is an absolute sweetheart. This guy loves LOVE. He is affectionate and really just wants to be part of a forever family.

Mr. Tangerine is FIV+. Don’t let that scare you away! Cats with FIV live long healthy lives. It’s because of misinformation that these cats are often overlooked.

So here are the FACTS! FIV-Feline Immunodeficiency Virus positive cats live long healthy lives and do not infect other household pets. Transmission-FIV is transmitted cat to cat through deep bite wounds. It is NOT spread through casual non-aggressive behavior. Lifespan- cats who test positive live just as long as FIV-negative cats.

Mr. Tangerine is between 8 to 10 years old.

If you want to meet him, reach out to us or apply at northforkcountrykids.org

Meet Ronnie. Ronnie has a serious eye infection which ended up in a rupture. I was able to trap and bring him to Dr Molnar. Thankfully, after antibiotics and eye removal he is doing very well recovering. Every time you donate to the The North Fork Country Kids:Rescue and Preservation Through Pedagogy know that your pledge and donation goes to help a cat like Ronnie. There are so many innocent lives across Long Island that deserve so much more. Many discarded like trash and left hopeless and in fear. Today Ronnie gets to thrive and live a healthy life because you took the time to help our mission. Donating even the smallest amount means a life saved, a life to live! Take a moment and share Ronnie and other cats we have take me in. We need you. Ronnie needs you! The Long Island Homeless cat and dog population NEEDS YOU! 🫵 donate and save a life.

Here is a before and after of one of the kittens that we took in in the last couple of weeks! This is what your donations help with! There’s so much suffering in the world with these defenseless animals that deserve so much more. Tigger is doing so much better. Initially she went to go see Dr. Molnar at Shinicock Animal Hospital. It was found that the infection was too deep and the concern was that it could be congenital issues. Today she went to the animal surgical center in Oceanside, where she was cleaned up and drained. A biopsy was done. We’re waiting results to see what the infection could be. For now, take a look at Tigger and know how much of a difference your donation can make thousands of animals we have helped this past year. Thank you please consider donating any amount in Tigger’s name for us to continue our mission.

Julian and Josie are ready for a home for the holidays.

They are typical kittens who love to play but will also chill on the couch and enjoy kitty treats. They are super cute and loveable.

They are approximately 6 months old, fully vetted and ready to go home. While this pair enjoy hanging out together, they can be adopted separately.

If you want to meet them, reach out or apply at northforkcountrykids.org

What’s better than one adoption? How about three! 💙💕💙

We love repeat adopters. Erica and Reed first adopted Ralphie in 2022. After spoiling him, they decided to welcome Sunny into their home in 2023. And just recently, Ray made the trek to Maine to join his new family.

As you can see, this trio of fur babies love one another very much and have received their much deserved happily ever after.

Anna is a sweet girl who is anxiously awaiting her forever home.

Anna is a sweet girl who is very social and enjoys playing with her other foster fur siblings. She would make a great addition to any family. She is on a special diet for a food allergy but as long as you stick with it, she is fine.

She is approximately 9 months old, fully vetted and ready to go home.
