Good afternoon! Due to certain circumstances I wanted to let my clients know that I will be bringing my boys to work with me for the time being. My oldest starts school in a few weeks so most of the time it’ll just be my youngest here and there. I know most of you don’t mind in the slightest but I just wanted to put it out there! Speeds once again! I’m really liking these as they’re much easier to glue than the Versa’s in my opinion! Less holes is proving to work great for me and my clients!

Perfectly said for those with sensitive to grass horses!

A simplified diagram of grass sugars. Basically, your safest grazing time for sensitive horses is going to be 6 am to 10 am. Or if you can pull it off (calling all night owls.....), if you want to do 12 on and 12 off, midnight turnout to noon the next day is the lowest half of the day. NOT noon to midnight or sunset to sunrise. Those are the HIGHEST sugar content hours, not lowest.

AFTERNOON TURNOUT IS THE WORST TIME OF DAY FOR IR AND SENSITIVE HORSES ON GRASS. A lot of misinformation is out there saying sunset is best. IT'S NOT. Sunrise is best.

And remember, blazing sun makes more sugar, cloudy and rainy days make less. AND..... low night time temps right now stress grasses and spike sugar levels as well. Be safe. *Sensitive horses should not have grass right now until temps stay higher over 50°. *

G got his first set of EasyCare Inc. Protective Hoofwear Octo’s! He’s had Versa Glues on for a few cycles and we decided to go an easier route with Octo’s! They fit extremely well so fingers crossed for him! Ignore my blue glove on one of the tabs 🤣 the glue *may* have been super sticky today and I couldn’t save it 😅😆

2023 was a hell of a year and my busiest yet honestly. 2024 doesn’t look to be slowing down 😂😅 that said, I’m starting this year off with a brand new set of nippers and rasp. My poor hoof stand is next on new magnets and cradle as well. Just in time for the mud 😭😅😂😩

Bargeman got a reset today in his Octo’s! He’s a lovely young Thoroughbred gelding who has some pretty big flares going on. We’re slowly working on them and he’s doing amazing in the Octo’s!!

I have to brag on Cherry! She has done so good in her Octo’s! We did her reset today and I swear I love these shoes on horses who are good to their shoes! They are so easy to reset! Mind you this mare and her owner are also Barrel Racing in these!

When you get to a client who is at 6 weeks and swear the shoes couldn’t have been on that long 😂 this girl took good care of her EasyCare Versa’s!
They were on for the long haul apparently! Of course I have to show her in her new set as well. The old set came off with virtually NO glue on them! We just decided to go with a smaller size this reset!

Glue on shoes CAN last in mud! Seriously!
Bet you couldn’t tell he has shoes on in the first picture 😂 he’s sooo hard on his shoes but so far he keeps his Octo’s on no problem! The back tabs tend to let go but he’s super twisty so it doesn’t surprise me. He’s had these on for almost 5 weeks now and they are still going strong after 3” of rain!
