Petrie's Place

Petrie's Place Petrie's Place was created by three little girls who would like to make a difference in our community. See long description. We look forward to hearing from you.

Petrie's Place was started by the Petrie girls. They became concerned when they saw fellow community members without coats in Winter. They accept donations of coats & clothing (no cash) and use those donations to help others in need throughout the year. If you, or anyone you know, is in need please let us know. If we do not have something you need then we will help find it. All information regarding all parties involved is kept completely confidential unless written permission is provided.

Does anyone know of any last minute, free, emergency food service for a family in Butte City? They have no food and have reached out to us for help.

This young man is requesting Christmas cards from around the world and trying to raise money for the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation. Address to send cards to and link to donate to his fundraiser are both in the article.

Now in hospice care, Maddox likely only has weeks or months to live.

We have been provided a spreadsheet with names, addresses, and information of individuals/families who would love to get Christmas cards/inspirational cards in the mail. These are addresses for fire survivors who are just looking for a little holiday cheer. It feels amazing to bring smiles to these faces. The kids and I have had the amazing opportunity to help so many and they are so grateful for even the littlest things. Please let me know if you want a copy of our list. We also have an address to send cards to recovering American soldiers if you're interested in that address also.

Here is part of a thank you we got from one of our adopted fire survivors:

"Wow, a few more packages arrived today. ****loves the jammies and I really like the cargo shorts. It's like you know exactly what to send us. Thank you so much!! Wow! It's Christmas early this year! I'm running around the house in my new slippers and shorts. I'm having flashbacks of when I was a child with new toys on Christmas morning. 🤗"

And another:

"Thanks to an AMAZING family, a huge weight has been lifted off our shoulders. Jennifer and her amazing girls have helped my family in a way that will never ever be forgotten. Thanks to her family, I will be able to continue working and being able to provide for my family. There aren't words to explain my gratitude but I plan to pay it forward in as many ways as I possibly can. Jennifer and her family are the kind of people that make this world an amazing place. They are completely selfless amazing human beings."

***HUGE SHOUTOUT TO ALL THE OTHER HELPERS WHO ARE DOING AMAZING THINGS FOR OTHERS IN THIS HORRIBLE TIME OF NEED***

We are putting together a list of helpers who have been dedicating their time and resources to those is need. This world is full of amazing people, all you have to do is look for them.

We have bags of warm clothing to donate. Do any of you know of any churches who are still accepting gently used clothing for our local homeless community? I'm starting to flare and am having trouble keeping up with all the fire victims we've adopted and getting clothes to our local families in need. Any info would help.

Thanks in advance.

We have adopted 10 families, 1 just in need (non fire related), 1 partially affected by the fire but also in need, and 8 campfire survivor families. We are finishing up the last 4 now. One family we can only partially adopt because of certain financial circumstances. I would hate to hinder their finding help. If anyone is interested in helping with gas cards or gift cards, please let us know. We can refer you to the actual family so that you can help them directly, or you can comment or PM me with questions. Thank you all for reading. Please share our post.

The girls and I have been super busy helping campfire survivors, pets, and some others that are in need. Please remember to always pay it forward...that's all we're doing.

Well we weren't able to go to the food drive at fairytale town because they cancelled it due to rain. We donated to 4 other families over the weekend and are still helping where we can. We have some clothing and jackets if anyone needs them any or if you know of anyone who needs warm clothing. Just let us know.

We have clothes, shoes, jackets/sweaters, socks... etc. All items were donated to Petrie's Place so most of them have been worn before. These items are free for anyone in need. Fire evacuee or not.

The past few days the girls have helped fire evacuees and local residents with masks, getting items for Thanksgiving dinners, and replacing sentimental items lost in the fire so new memories can start being made.

We are currently accepting donations of childrens pajamas (new/used), childrens underwear (new only), and socks (new/used). We have also been collecting board games and books to give out as Christmas gifts this year. Please let us know if you'd like to donate any items or if you, or someone you know, are in need.
