Silence is violence. Community means to come together to stand what for each other and what is right.
We must end the vicious cycle of hatred by standing together, we can either stand together as a human race or we crumble and fall as individuals. Enough is enough.
Tommy Du Lee has left his legacy for us to fill. He was a man that was loved by his community for his genuine positive presence and courage to stand up for what was right. Over the past few years, Tommy would defend his wig store from several other attacks and robberies. He continued fighting for what was right until he couldn’t anymore. We must not let his heroism be left to be forgotten. Let’s not let this loss be logged into the many instances of death and violence that can be so seemly forgotten.
Let’s continue to show our strength and courage by standing up together against hate and violence. By showing our strength and courage by standing up together against hate and violence.
Through the love and courage, we inherited from Mr. Lee, We. Rise. Together.
Today, I’m taking the time to voice my opinions on a topic that is important, sensitive, and urgent. This is my response to the call to action of my own self-reflection of Grandpa Vicha to spread awareness and motivate Asian Americans to celebrate and remember the life of Grandpa Vicha, who could have been ANY of our grandfathers.
We are a few days away from the historic VICHA RATANAPAKDEE WAY street renaming and film screening on 10/1 in San Francisco.
I encourage fellow community members to share their own self-reflection videos as a way to collectively raise awareness of Asian hate and the senseless violence that plagues our community.
Dedicated to @justiceforvicha

Last week 34 year old street vendor Elias was gunned down and murdered in an attempted robbery in Gardena. What’s worse? He was killed in front of his 7 year old daughter.
This weekend a group of our community members met up in Gardena at his memorial site to pay respects and pass out pepper spray to any other street vendors nearby. We met with activists from the Hispanic community and shared in their frustration and outrage over the growing attacks on street vendors.
Supporting community doesn’t mean only supporting YOUR community. We all need to take a stand for one another regardless of our differences.
Elias was the primary source of income for his family & his wife has started a GoFundMe to help with funeral costs and every day life costs. We ask that you help support this family, even if it’s $1. Let’s show Elias’ wife and daughter what a community UNITED can achieve. We’ve added the link to the GFM in our bio.
SEED (Snuffle, enrichment, engage, and disengage) is my latest methods I curated to use when introducing dogs to one another in play dates, daycare, and day school. This training game promotes safe and predictable dog interactions. Many times when dogs interacting with other dogs, there can be feelings of excitement, fear, stress, or anxiety. SEED provides the student dog an opportunity how to relax around dogs.
I love this game because dogs learn that stationing away from dogs is enjoyable because it leads to the consequence of meeting the dogs. The short greeting allow handlers to work within the comfortable level of a given student dog.
This is not a how-to video but a demonstration of a procedure I like to use when socializing dogs. It is not recommended to practice this exercise without the assistance of a certified trainer.
Please consult or speak to your preferred certified trainer to help guide you and your dogs.
The reality is that these attacks are not subsiding. Innocent people get hurt daily. There is little help to victims when attacks happen. Many times victims are left brutally beaten and assaulted. Many of which are elderly women of Asian descent. Many victims and by standards live in fear and feel hopeless.
I hope today you can ask yourself: “what is my role in all of this?”
For me, if there was any chance to stop or intervene, I’d take that in a heartbeat. This senselessness makes my blood boil. These acts are the driving forces to my initiative to volunteer myself for the sake of others, I won’t turn away blindly. This is why I’m out here every week to make a difference in the lives of others. If my community doesn’t thrive, I can’t thrive...
Even though what I can do is little, at least something is being done, and that carries so much weight, especially when the community comes to show up.
Patrolling is my way to do something about what is happening, I can’t stand still and let this all happen.
By patrolling we have the opportunity to deter and prevent violent crimes to innocent people, at the very least if we can deter one more assault we are making a statement to everyone (community members, media, elected officials) that we’re not having any of this and we’re here to stand up for justice.
Our community is suffering and community is where we can all find our place to support and defend our freedoms.
At this point, we need more help from our community because our government is not responding to the state of emergency that is our daily reality.
If you like to reach out to help please contact @asians.taking.action.la, Susan leads the patrols, talk to her if you are interested in helping.
My brother @wil4thrill said it best last night during patrols: “If you attack one of us, it’s an attack on all of us”.
Stay well, stay safe, if you see something say something, and more importantly, if someone is getting beat up, step up
I believe we all have a role to make a difference to create a positive change, no matter how big or small it all adds up. We need each other to thrive. This was incredibly difficult for me to make, but I intend to do more this your for my community. Thank you everyone for inspiring me ❤️
I hope you can take sometime to hear me out and reach out to a BIPOC in your life. Let’s take one big step to enjoy a better tomorrow together. Thank you 🙏

Teaching a consent cue is not just for dogs!
Fish keepers are always battle algae growth sometimes we can too quick to clean fish tanks to achieve a certain look to the aquarium. Many fish suffer from stress and anxiety from people coming up to the glass and interacting with the tank. To maintain the positive relationship I have with Finn the puffer fish, I want to make tank maintain a fun and engaging activity!
Training is great physically and mentally stimulating for all animals and we are able to teach animals when certain conditions will lead to reinforcement.
In this clip Finn is offering a consent behavior (looking up at the surface) as a start button behavior to movement of the algae magnet. (Our marker is the flashlight)
I love watching him learn and enjoying his fish training! 🐟
