Humboldt Made is encouraging community members to shop local for their Thanksgiving dinners, using ingredients and products from Humboldt businesses. Participants will post photos of their holiday tables, tag the local businesses they’ve supported, and use the hashtag while tagging on social media. The person with the most variety of local goodies will win a curated Humboldt Made gift basket! Contest Ends November 29th!

Save the date Saturday December 14th! It is the 20th Annual Holiday Fundraiser for the Emergency Medical Fund (EMF). There will be items for raffle and an online auction (now open!). This fundraiser is the only big donation drive for the EMF and is critical to helping keep the shelter animals healthy. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase starting December 9th at the shelter. We look forward to seeing you!

Happy Saturday! November is filled with potential and hope for our rescue, which we could really use. Each of our November activities have the potential to help keep our rescue open, our animals fed and cared for, and future animals saved from neglect and abuse. We are committed to our mission and could really use the help of our community! Below are three different ways you can support us in November. Please vote for us beginning Nov 4th to be the “Seeds of Change” recipient, hang out with us at Redwood Curtain (Myrtle taproom) on Nov 13th where $1 for each beer is donated, and purchase tickets to our annual fundraiser where we hope to connect with the community over face painting, beer tasting, Santa hangouts and a kissing booth! Hey Everyone! Wednesday and Thursday are confirmed for paving the Blue Lake Bike and Skate Park! This is a volunteer driven effort and we need all hands on deck! If you have some free time on Wednesday and/or Thursday, please come down to the park on Taylor Way and lend a hand. The crews will start working at 7a.m. and we'll go until dark.

This is the home stretch effort to get the jumps paved and the park winterized. We can't thank you all enough for the generosity, support and enthusiasm for this project. The outpouring of financial donations, volunteer hours has brought us to a point far beyond what we had thought possible.

Please spread the word; all volunteers are welcome and encouraged.

Finn is wondering if today will be the day he goes home?! Finn has shown to do well with kids, adults, and other dogs (big and small). He is beyond sweet, a nice leash walker, and an overall easy going boy. Finn is a year old and weighs around 60 pounds. Finn is available for foster or adoption.
